Hey my darlings,
Here we are once again settling into a piece of quiet,
Welcoming ourselves to this space,
This time and beginning to release our connection,
Our attachment to what's going on in the outer world and tending to our inner world.
So bringing your body into a place of deep relaxation,
Either lying down or sitting on a meditation cushion or in a chair with your feet on the floor and your hands resting in your lap.
And the invitation today is to spend some time opening the body and so we begin with our hands.
We begin with having our hands palm facing upward and closing your eyes if they haven't already drifted closed and just feeling how it is to have your palms upward,
Open to the sky,
Open to receiving.
Maybe it's possible to feel the air on the palm of your hand.
Maybe you notice there's some warmth here or some coolness.
Whatever you notice is okay.
Just allowing the breath to soften and settle even deeper and keeping your attention on the feeling of your hands.
Noticing the fingers and thumbs,
The sensation of your skin,
Noticing the sense of openness within the body when our hands are able to rest palm upwards in this way.
Maybe a sense of allowing or surrender.
Maybe you notice there's a tingling sensation in the palms of your hands or in the tips of your fingers.
Maybe even a sense of holding the air,
Holding the energy of the air.
This can be a powerful posture of release and deep settling.
Taking a few deeper breaths now,
Allowing the breath to flow more fully through the lungs,
Expanding the belly and the chest and releasing with a large and generous sigh.
And so gently blinking the eyes open to a soft downward gaze and maybe just moving the fingertips,
Moving your hand,
Just seeing how it is to really connect with all the muscles,
All the tendons,
The nerves,
The movement of the bones and maybe sending some gratitude to our hard-working hands.
And the journaling prompt today,
If you choose to write,
Is opening to what is.
Opening to what is.
Write it at the top of your page and see where it takes you.
Always writing with love,
With compassion.
And I'll see you next week.
I send you love and a hug and a wave.
