We have five traditional senses to perceive life.
Providing with facts we need to assess.
They serve our mind to form the world we live in.
To get it and act to gain and effect.
But what about this world that lives within us?
The place where our mind serves our senses.
Where sight,
Hearing,
Taste,
Smell and touch spread our impressions.
And our thoughts induce them with imagination,
Pictures or stories.
But then step back to let this soul food effect on us.
Our mind is a powerful tool and we need it.
But it tends to forget that it is there to serve us and not the other way around.
It can become this good friend in charge of everything that dominates all our developments with its steering influence.
That is when we get stuck in phases where the world effects,
Figures,
Of planning,
Activities and assessable results dominates our being.
We don't pause and take time to be in the present moment.
We disconnect from our inner self,
Become driven by external influences only,
Without matching them with internal needs,
Values or feelings.
We hustle through the remaining part of our life and measure ourselves against output.
Then it's time to let our mind know,
Take it easy partner.
When you feel this crazy society adding to the strain,
Take a stroll through the nearest waters and remember your place.
That is what Xavier Rudd sings in his song Follow the Sun.
So,
Whenever you feel overwhelmingly crazy busy again,
Try it.
Take your time and see the shades of a green forest under an open sky.
Listen to the songs of the birds sitting in the trees.
Taste water from a clear creek.
Smell the scent of leaves travelling through the air or even feel the warmth of a campfire on your skin.
For a while,
Let your senses perceive life in its primal way.
Slow down and become a part of where we come from.
Be for your mind a good friend,
Granted a rest from the leading role that it tends to take over.
It might be surprising how much gratitude and relief you can gain for yourself.
For now,
All time is at hand.
Be for your mind a good friend,
Granted a rest from the leading role that it tends to take over.
Be for your mind a good friend,
Granted a rest from the leading role that it tends to take over.
