Hello beautiful souls,

This is June B and welcome to an amazing night's sleep.

Thanks for being here for another in the series of Bedtime Tales with June B.

Today we will be relaxing in our living room in a rocking chair with our furry friend in tow.

Let's begin.

So get into your favourite sleeping position.

Make sure you're comfortable.

Close your eyes.

Relax your muscles.

And slowly imagine yourself melting into the bed.

Now let's go to your breathing.

Slowing down the heart rate and let's take some nourishing breaths together.

Breathe in.

Breathe out.

Breathe in.

Breathe out.

Breathe in.

Breathe out.

Breathe in.

Breathe out.

Last time breathe in.

Breathe in.

Breathe out.

Settle in now.

Get comfortable.

And let go of everything that happened today.

Let yourself focus on my voice.

If your mind wanders it's okay.

Bring it back to the sound of my voice.

Keep your breathing slow and steady.

Let's go on our journey together.

So I'm here relaxing in my rocking chair.

About to go to retire for the evening.

And as I'm about to get up,

Here comes my beautiful cat to have their relaxation time with me.

Did you know that having a pet can actually save your life?

It is a known fact that the sound of the purring can lower your heart rate,

Lower your blood pressure,

Reduce anxiety and put you in a state of total relaxation.

So let's relax here for a few minutes with our cat.

Imagine the scene now for a moment.

Let's focus on the sounds first.

The rocking of the chair.

Listen to it going back and forward.

Back and forward.

It is a strange sound and also can make a good background element to this sound melody that we are listening to.

Next,

The sound of our furry friend.

The sound of the purring can be so soothing to us.

Now imagine for a moment the soft and pleasing fur running through your fingers.

It is soft as a feather and so relaxing.

As you rub your hand over it.

As you do,

The purring gets louder and louder,

Deeper and sweeter.

Did you know that playing with a dog or cat raises our levels of serotonin and dopamine?

These are hormones that calm and relax the nervous system.

Pets can also teach us valuable life lessons like responsibility,

Trust,

Compassion,

Respect and patience.

Also,

Having a cuddle buddy during nap time.

Talking about one's pet can help strengthen communication ties between family and friends.

Sharing common experiences with their pet can also help knit the people closer together.

These topics of conversation may even pave the way towards other topics of discussion that can help you to heal and grow in many areas.

I bet you never knew how valuable a pet could be.

Apart from having loads of fun with them,

They can be a priceless addition to any home and can really help you to get over many difficult situations.

Another thing about having a pet is you have a lifelong confidant.

Who you can tell all your problems,

Hopes and dreams to and who will never talk back or tell you that you are wrong.

All they ever do is love you unconditionally and tell you how much they love you with their eyes every single day.

Do you know how beautiful it is to come home to someone who is always glad to see you?

It is like heaven.

One other thing is it is also very soothing for the pet I'm sure.

Our little furry friend is limp in my lap and I can imagine the beautiful dreams being conjured up in that tiny brain now.

As I myself settle down,

It is time for me to go to bed.

I'm sure my friend and confidant will follow me into the bed at some point and we will have a great night's sleep together.

I'm not sure about you.

I'm getting sleepy even thinking about it.

So I'm ready to let go fully and surrender to sleep.

Thanks for joining me tonight and as you slowly drift away,

Have yourself a great night's sleep.

And looking forward to seeing you again for another in the series of Bedtime Tales with June B.

This wasn't a far reach for me since I sleep with my two furry friends. Never thought of them in this way though. Thank you for a newfound appreciation of them!
