This is less a breath as it is a sip. Less a breath out as it is. Really letting go of the tension that holds you onto yourself. Relax and find your seat. And with each movement, Let everything else go. As you breathe in and settle, Give yourself a little smile and feel that smile spread across your face. Be aware of the change that you feel in your cheeks and in your heart. Let that smile become a gateway to your happiness, To your universe. As you breathe and settle, Breathe and settle. Let your body become a doorway to the connection that is all around you. Give yourself permission to let go. Give yourself permission to relax. As a glass can be filled with water or wine, Your body can be filled with love and kindness. Let go with each exhale. Connect with each inhale. When you come upon a thought, Don't jump to it. Treat it gently. Simply drop in on it. If you feel an unpleasantness, Simply place your attention upon it. Don't feel anger, Sadness, Longing. Don't feel as if you have to respond to it. Merely recognize it for what it is and let it go. It is an emotion and nothing more. Give that emotion the relaxed attention it deserves and then let it go. Allow yourself to dwell upon it for a moment until it is ready to leave and then release it. And return your attention to your breath, To your heart, To your smile. Know that you always have a choice. You can dwell upon the past. You can worry about the future. Or you can settle into the present, Into your breath. Be present simply by being aware. Be aware of the quality of the air. Cool and dry as it enters your nose. Warm and moist as it leaves. Be aware of the sounds around you. Good or bad, Don't judge them. Treat them like a thought. Acknowledge them and then let them go. Allow your breath to be in the foreground, A place for your mind to settle upon. Allow your thoughts to be in the background. Acknowledge them without judgment and put them in a place so that you can let them go. This is less a breath as it is a sip, As it is a connection to the air and the space around you. As you breathe, Feel your body fade into the background. Feel your consciousness arrive in the foreground. Give yourself permission to leave as you focus on the air and the emptiness of your breath. Breathe in and settle. Breathe out and settle. And follow the air that connects you to the space, The world, The universe around you. This is less a breath as it is a sip. As you breathe, Feel your body fade into the background. Give yourself permission to leave as you focus on the air and the emptiness of your breath. And follow the air that connects you to the space, The world, The universe around you. This is less a breath as it is a sip.

Another beautiful meditation by Jeff Cannon. Usually I prefer more spaces in the talk, but the words are so poetic and the voice so beautifully paced. Also, the suggestion to โdwell โupon the the thought before releasing it made all the difference to me. I usually scurry away from it back to my breath. Holding the thought for a moment is so much more peaceful. Thanks.

Five star! I return to this often and love the imagery and Jeff's smooth delivery. Always find it calming and centring. Would really appreciate an additional version with the same phrases but longer gaps between for deeper reflection.

Bookmarked this early in my practice, still return to it. Very easy to listen to, relaxing, balanced.
