Hello and welcome.
Make yourself comfortable.
Allowing your body to settle into a position that feels supported and at ease.
Let your hands just rest comfortably wherever they want to go.
And allow your shoulders to loosen.
Your jaw to release.
And your eyes to gently close.
And take a slow breath in through the nose.
And release it through the mouth.
Another breath enters,
Unhurried and spacious.
And as it leaves,
Allow the outer world to grow a little quieter.
There is nowhere else you need to be at the moment.
Nothing needs to be solved.
Nothing needs to be carried for the next few minutes.
The path.
Is waiting for you.
So imagine yourself standing at the edge of an ancient meadow in the early morning light.
The sky above you is pale and luminous,
Brushed with soft shades of pearl and lavender and rose.
And a faint mist drifts close to the earth,
Curling between the long grasses and gathering around the roots of old trees.
The air is cool and clean.
And you can smell damp earth,
Wild thyme.
And the faint sweetness of flowers opening up to greet the day.
Birdsong moves through the branches.
Somewhere nearby,
Water trickles over smooth stones.
And every sound seems to belong to the silence,
Rather than disturb it.
And ahead of you.
Lies a labyrinth.
It has been formed from low stones,
Moss,
Herbs and tiny wildflowers.
As the pathway curls slowly inward,
Turning and returning.
Drawing closer to a centre that can't yet be seen.
And this is not a maze.
There are no wrong turns here.
There is only one path winding toward the centre and then carrying you safely home again.
And you stand for a moment at the entrance.
And beneath your feet,
The earth feels steady.
The labyrinth doesn't hurry you.
It has waited through countless seasons and will wait a little longer while you arrive completely.
Take a slow breath in.
And as you breathe out,
Imagine releasing the noise you've been carrying,
Those unfinished thoughts,
The expectations,
The small tensions that have gathered within your body.
Let them fall from you like a cloak that has grown too heavy.
You don't need to take everything into the labyrinth.
You can simply enter as you are.
And when you feel ready.
Take your first step across the threshold.
The path beneath you is soft and warm.
Small leaves brush against your ankles and the scent of rosemary rises as you pass.
And with every step your breathing finds a gentler rhythm.
Step by step.
Breath by breath.
And you begin to move away from the edges of the day and deeper into the landscape within you.
And the first turn carries you to the left.
And for a moment it appears that you are moving away from the center,
Yet the path remains true.
And the labyrinth reminds you that a life doesn't always travel in straight lines.
Some paths circle.
Some seasons appear to take us backwards.
Some moments draw us away from what we thought we were seeking.
Yet every step becomes part of the sacred pattern.
Continue walking.
There's no need to measure your project progress.
There's no destination to reach before you are ready.
Your only step and your only task is to remain with the step beneath your feet.
Earth receives each footfall.
The air receives each breath.
The labyrinth receives everything you bring.
And as the path curves again,
Allow the thoughts within your mind to move as clouds move across the sky.
They may appear.
Drift beside you for a while.
And then continue on their way.
You don't need to follow them.
You are walking beneath them.
Held by the Earth.
And a small golden butterfly rises from the herbs and travels with you for several steps.
Its wings open and close like a tiny breathing prayer before it disappears into the meadow.
And the path turns once more.
And with this turn,
Imagine that you are laying down the weight of all that cannot be changed today.
Let the Earth hold it.
You have carried it far enough for now.
And another turn comes.
And here,
Allow yourself to release the roles you hold for others.
The one who comforts,
The one who remembers,
The one who keeps going,
The one who holds everything together.
These parts of you are precious.
They're not the whole of you.
And within this labyrinth,
You don't need to perform or provide.
You're allowed simply to be living soul walking upon the earth.
Continue inward now.
And the sounds beyond the labyrinth have softened.
And every time,
Sit seems to be moving differently here.
You know,
The path grows narrower.
Bordered now by lavender and pale chamomile flowers.
And their fragrance rises around you,
Soothing the places within that have become tired from too much vigilance.
Each curve draws you deeper.
Each step removes another layer of urgency.
There is wisdom in walking slowly.
There is healing in not knowing exactly how the path will unfold.
There is peace in allowing yourself to be led.
And ahead you notice a smooth stone resting beside the path.
It glows faintly in the morning light.
And as you pass,
Imagine placing one burden into that stone.
No need to name it.
The labyrinth already understands.
And the stone receives it without judgment and holds it within the ancient patience of the earth.
And your body feels lighter,
Just a little.
And your breath travels more freely.
And you continue along the winding path.
Soon the centre comes briefly into view.
It is closer than you expected,
Yet the pathway turns away from it once again.
Trust the turning.
The centre hasn't abandoned you.
The path is simply preparing you to arrive.
Walk through another curve,
Feeling the rhythm of your movement.
One foot follows the other.
The body remembers how to continue,
Even when the mind can't see what lies beyond the next bend.
Step by step.
Breath by breath.
Turning,
Softening,
Releasing.
Returning.
And the path curls inward one final time and before you lies the heart of the labyrinth.
At its centre stands an ancient tree,
Its branches reach toward the sky and its roots rise gently from the earth like the backs of sleeping animals.
Small ribbons,
Feathers and tiny bells hang from its branches,
Left by those who have walked this path before you.
And beneath the tree is a circular stone seat warmed by the first light of morning.
Enter the centre slowly.
The moment you step into this sacred place,
The little bells begin to move in the breeze.
The delicate voices shimmer through the air,
Welcoming you.
Go and sit beneath the tree.
Feel its great presence behind you.
Its roots descend deep into the darkness of the soil,
While its branches open fearlessly toward light.
You are held between earth and sky,
And between what has been and what is still coming.
Between the life you have lived and the quiet life continuing to unfold within you.
Rest here.
There's nothing to do in the centre,
Nothing to seek.
The centre is not a place of answers,
It is a place of remembrance.
Here,
Beneath every story,
Every responsibility and every ache,
Your spirit remains whole.
Maybe tired,
Maybe tender,
Maybe changed by all that has travelled through,
Yet still whole.
Take a slow breath and allow the center of the labyrinth to meet the center within you.
And a warm golden light begins to gather around the roots of the tree.
It travels across the earth until it reaches your feet.
The light moves slowly upward through your legs bringing warmth and ease.
Surround your knees with tenderness.
It passes through your hips and lower back,
Softening and supporting.
That moves into your belly,
Your heart and your lungs.
Flows through your shoulders,
Down your arms and into your hands.
Rises through your throat.
Your face and the crown of your head.
You are held within a circle of golden light.
Nothing is demanded of you here.
You don't have to become stronger.
You don't have to become different.
You are being met exactly as you are.
Rest in this golden stillness.
From the branches above,
You notice a single leaf begins to fall.
It turns slowly through the air before settling into your open hands.
And across its surface runs a delicate golden line,
Curling and turning in the pattern of the labyrinth.
The leaf carries a simple blessing.
Path within you is never lost.
The centre remains.
And you can return whenever you need to.
Hold these words within your heart.
It's almost time to begin the return journey.
So rise slowly from beneath the tree and offer your gratitude to the centre.
Not as a farewell,
But as a promise of remembrance.
The centre belongs to you now.
Its stillness travels with you.
Step back onto the path.
And you will walk the same way outward.
Yet you are not quite the same person who entered.
The return part.
Is all part of the pilgrimage.
And you carry something back into the world as soft a breath.
Steadier presence,
A small golden thread of connection in your own inner center.
And begin walking.
The path curves away from the tree and the little bells ring behind you.
With each step allow yourself to gather the parts of you that feel renewed.
Gather your patience.
Gather your courage.
Gather your tenderness.
Gather the strength that remains alive within you,
Even during the difficult seasons.
The lavender brushed softly against your legs.
The chamomile nods as you pass.
The old stones seem to glow with the warmth they have gathered from the sun.
And you pass the stone that received your burden.
It remains beside the path,
Holding what you placed there.
And you don't need to pick it up again.
The labyrinth has taught you that release doesn't mean forgetting.
It means allowing yourself to walk without carrying every weight in your hands.
Continue outward.
The centre sometimes appears close,
Sometimes disappears behind the curves,
But you can still feel it.
That golden thread remains and it reaches from the ancient tree to your heart.
From the heart of the labyrinth.
To the heart of you.
No distance can sever it.
And the path turns again guiding you closer to the outer meadow.
And the sounds of the waking world begin to return.
Birds call from the branches,
Water moves over stones,
A breeze passes across the grass carrying the scent of rosemary and morning earth.
And you've approached the entrance where your journey began.
And just pause for a minute before crossing the threshold.
Feel the ground beneath your feet.
Feel the breath moving through your body.
Feel a center that now travels within you.
And step out of the labyrinth and into the meadow.
Path remains behind you patient and unchanged.
It will be here whenever you need to return.
Within a breath,
Within a moment of stillness,
Within the chamber of your own heart.
Now bring awareness back to your physical body.
Notice the surface supporting you.
Notice the temperature of the air around your skin.
Listen to the sounds around you.
Notice your fingers and your toes.
Maybe roll your shoulders softly,
Allowing your body to awaken in its own time.
And take one final nourishing breath in.
And release it slowly.
Place one hand over your heart and the other wherever your body most appreciates its warmth.
And carry these words with you.
I trust the path beneath my feet.
I honor every turning.
I carry the centre within me.
And I return myself with gentleness.
And when you're ready,
Softly open your eyes.
You have walked the labyrinth.
You have rested at its center.
And you have returned carrying its wisdom home.
Thank you for walking this ancient path with me today.
May the stillness you found at the center remain within you.
And may you remember that even when life twists,
Turns,
Or carries you somewhere unexpected,
You are never truly lost.
The path beneath your feet is still unfolding.
The center is always waiting.
And you can return to yourself one breath at a time.
Until we meet again,
Walk softly,
Trust your journey and carry the wisdom of the labyrinth within you.
Namaste.
