Let's get comfortable now.
Sit on a chair with your feet touching the ground or lie on your back.
Your feet are apart.
Arms are away from your body and palms facing up.
Now close your eyes and allow your body to relax.
Relaxing your toes,
Feet,
Ankles,
Lower legs,
Knees,
Thighs,
Hips,
Spine,
Shoulders,
Fingertips,
Fingers,
Palms,
Hands,
Wrists,
Lower arms,
Elbows,
Upper arms,
Shoulders.
Relaxing your tummy,
Chest,
Heart,
Throat,
Neck,
Back of your head,
Top of your head,
Face,
Eyes,
Nose,
Cheeks,
Mouth,
Ears.
Your whole body is relaxed.
You are feeling very relaxed.
Now imagine you're going on a magical journey with your octopus friend.
This octopus has a rounded body,
Bulging eyes and eight long arms.
You meet your octopus friend on the ocean floor.
This octopus loves the deep water and it's the perfect spot to find its favorite food.
You float and drift as you follow the octopus as it explores the ocean floor.
Its long arms help the octopus to move along the ground.
And as if by magic,
The octopus changes color from brown to blue and green.
And you notice that it's changing color to blend into its surroundings.
You feel so peaceful as you swim with your octopus friend.
You swim past the coral reef and through the seagrass forest.
You feel so happy as you glide and drift alongside the octopus.
You can see many brightly colored fish ahead of you,
Swimming and dancing.
You smile at the octopus and you find yourselves joining the fish.
You dance with the fish,
Swimming,
Swirling,
Tumbling.
It's such calming fun.
The octopus waves its many arms,
Dancing and waving to the fish,
Wishing,
Spiraling and swimming backwards.
Let's take a few more moments to enjoy swimming and dancing with the octopus and fish.
You feel so free,
So calm and so peaceful,
Floating and drifting,
Drifting and floating.
You know your octopus friend is intelligent.
He recognizes you every time you visit.
It's amazing to know your octopus friend has three hearts.
And these three hearts pump its blood around its body.
What a special friend you have.
You glide through the water with your octopus friend.
Quietly and gently you move through the water.
Enjoy some time swimming through the water.
You can swim to wherever you choose.
Slowly drifting,
Floating and gliding.
The octopus now signals it's time to go.
The octopus returns to the ocean floor.
You notice its home is hidden in the rocks.
The octopus squeezes into the tiniest space and disappears into its rock home.
With one of its long arms,
The octopus reaches out and picks up its rock front door.
It pulls the door across the entrance to its rock den.
Goodbye octopus friend,
You say,
As the octopus settles into its home.
It's time for rest.
Notice your breath as you breathe in and breathe out.
Your breath is gentle and quiet.
You are feeling wonderfully relaxed,
Swimming and drifting through the water.
Spend a few more moments enjoying your relaxation.
It is now time for you to safely return from your ocean journey.
You feel so happy that you've seen your octopus friend again today.
Notice yourself sitting on the chair or lying on your back.
So now take your attention back to your body.
Notice your breath as you breathe in and breathe out.
And when you are ready,
Slowly open your eyes.
Enjoy.
