Welcome to meditation.
This is called Spark Joy and you will see why.
So start to calm your mind and body by following the cyclical breathing rhythm where you inhale through your nose to the count of one,
Two,
Three,
Four,
Pause and hold your breath,
Two,
Three,
Four,
Exhale through your mouth,
Two,
Three,
Four,
And pause at the bottom,
Two,
Three,
Four,
Do it again in through your nose,
Pause and hold it,
Exhale through your mouth,
Pause at the bottom.
One more time on your own,
Inhale,
Pause,
Exhale,
And pause.
As you feel your senses relaxed and when you are ready close your eyes and answer this question in your mind,
What brings you joy?
Invite the images of moments,
Faces,
Places,
Activities,
Memories,
Anything that makes you smile,
That lights you up on the inside,
That sparks joy to come to mind.
Celebrate each as they come to you,
Let them fill you with feelings of happiness and embody this joy.
I will give you some time to just allow these moments,
These memories,
This joy to spark in your mind and I'll let you know when a few minutes are up.
Now that you have filled your mind and your body and your heart with joy,
Try to carry this with you throughout the day.
As stress arises and we get busy and the day shifts,
Just close your eyes,
Ask yourself what sparks you joy and allow your mind to take you on an uplifting journey.
Buddha said,
We are what we think,
All that we are arises within our thoughts,
With our thoughts we make the world.
