I invite you to take a few deep breaths.
When I inhale,
I'm going to put my thumb at the bottom of my ring finger and inhale and close my hands.
And then when I exhale,
I'm going to open my hands and just envision light coming forth.
So on the inhalation,
Close the hands.
On the exhalation,
Open.
And I do that for three breaths.
And then we'll go into the practice.
Okay.
So let us begin.
As you complete your three breaths,
Notice the natural rhythm of the breath in your shoulders and the weight of your body in the seat.
Bring your awareness to the breath at the tip of your nose,
The upper lip,
Releasing the mind's grasp on any thoughts so that you can center and focus on this point of inhalation and exhalation.
Now expand your awareness of breath from the tip of the nose to the entirety of your body,
Bringing that attention from pinpoint focus of the nose to the expanse of general awareness.
As thoughts arise,
Bring yourself back to the experience of the breath in the body,
The expanse of awareness.
And now into this open awareness and stillness,
I invite you to bring an intention to mind,
How you want to show up for your day or even this month.
This can be in the form of an intention or an aspiration.
Whatever comes to you naturally in this space.
You might notice who you are being or how you are showing up as you live this intention or aspiration.
Take a moment to notice this intention or aspiration in your body.
Returning your awareness back to the breath and any sensations.
What is the experience of the aspiration in this present moment?
To close out our practice today,
Get a turn from the body and aspirations to gratitude.
And bringing forth all that you're grateful for,
Including this community of practice who's here to support each other in practice.
Offering thoughts,
Intention,
Grace to all those who bring forth in this closing gratitude.
When you hear the final bell,
Take three more deep breaths and then return to your day.
