As you prepare for sleep,

Allow the day to loosen its grip on your body and mind.

There is nothing left to solve tonight,

Nothing left to carry forward into rest.

Let your body sink into the surface beneath you.

Feel gravity holding you effortlessly.

Feel your breath slowing naturally.

Inhale softly.

And exhale longer than the inhale.

Again,

Releasing the day.

Imagine the room filling with a warm,

Protective presence.

Gentle,

Quiet,

Steady.

A candlelight in a peaceful sanctuary.

Nothing invasive.

Nothing demanding.

Just safety.

Your nervous system begins to recognize that it can stand down now.

You are not on watch tonight.

You are allowed to be held.

And repeat,

I am safe to rest.

I am safe to soften.

I am safe to receive support.

Let these words drift like lullabies through your body.

Imagine a soft blanket of light gently covering you from head to toe.

Relaxing your forehead,

Your eyes,

Your jaw,

Your throat,

Your shoulders,

Your belly,

Your hips,

Your legs,

Your feet.

And each exhale releases old vigilance,

Old emotional tension,

Old responsibilities that no longer need your attention tonight.

If your mind wanders,

Simply return to the feeling of being supported by the bed.

By breath.

By something loving and unseen that watches over you.

You are not alone in this life.

You never truly have been.

Let yourself drift now.

Not trying to sleep.

Simply allowing rest to claim you naturally.

You are held.

You are guided.
