Just come into your body.
Take some deep breaths.
So to bring you deeper into your relaxed state,
I'm going to walk through the body first to ask for release and then as we go into the actual meditation,
We'll be asking and sharing the body for gratitude.
So be aware of your feet.
Invite your feet to let go and to relax.
Move your awareness up to your lower leg.
Feel free to move your body as it asks for movement to adjust to the relaxed version of itself today.
So let go of your calf muscles and your shins.
Now move the relaxation through your knees up to your thighs.
Letting go of the quadriceps and the hamstrings.
Just move the awareness to your hips.
Letting go of the posture,
Letting it relax and adjust to what your body needs today.
Continue the flowing relaxation up through your back.
Step up the vertebrae,
Letting go of the tiny muscles in between each bone as it supports your structure.
Continue to relax your shoulders.
Using your posture again as needed.
You might sit differently as you release each part of your body.
Bring your shoulders up to your ears.
Reach them up,
Up and slowly roll them back,
Opening your chest,
Relaxing the shoulder blades down the back.
Now relax your arms wherever your hands lay.
Let them go.
Return your awareness up to your neck.
Tilt your head side to side,
Slowly and gently,
Allowing it to settle back at the top.
Letting go of your face.
Letting go of your forehead.
Relax.
Drop your jaw.
Release your tongue and come to stillness.
Now I invite you to walk with me through the body,
Recognizing each area,
Showing it gratitude.
We're going to say thank you and send love to all the major areas of your body today.
Let's start again with your feet.
These strong structures that carry you every step of your day.
So grateful.
So reliable and consistent are your feet.
Thank you feet.
Moving up to your ankles,
Working as a team with those beautiful feet.
So grateful for these ankles and the shifts that they create in your weight,
In your walk,
In your groove.
Every step of your day is assisted by these strong ankles.
Thank you ankles.
Now we shift up to your shins,
Encircling your whole lower leg in gratitude.
These beautiful calves and shins,
A great partnership in movement and support.
Moving up and down,
Raising and lowering your body as it moves.
Thank you lower legs.
Growing upward,
Stopping at your knees.
Such complex and forgiving knees.
So grateful for our knees.
So much intuition in these knees.
So much emotion of the movements of the rest of the body.
So much responsibility in these knees.
Keep us grounded and yet fluid.
And agile and capable.
Thank you knees.
Now we move up to these major muscles of our thighs.
So many partnerships and triads in these quadriceps and hamstrings,
The abductors and the adductor muscles.
Our transition point between our hips and our knees.
So much movement is on behalf of these thighs.
So much gratitude goes to these thighs.
Jumping,
Walking,
Dancing,
All assisted by these thighs.
Thank you thighs.
Giving this gratitude to the hips,
Our center of gravity.
The beginning of the chakra system,
The gateway for our life and our release.
Our movements begin with the joy in these hips.
Our release ends with these hips.
And walking,
All of these movements rely on these hips to be free and flowing.
Thank you hips.
Moving up to the torso.
So much contained here to be grateful for.
All the systems of the body.
All the jobs to be done.
Both voluntary and involuntary.
Each area has its assignment and follows the stream and its purpose.
So much gratitude for every system and all the jobs being done as we breathe,
As we move,
As we flourish.
Thank you torso and all that you contain.
Showering this gratitude down the arms,
Saying thank you to the shoulders,
The elbows,
And pausing for extra gratitude for the hands.
Helping us to express ourselves through written words,
Through touch,
Through gestures.
So much communicated through these hands,
Both outwardly and received into our soul.
We give and we receive through these hands.
So much to share.
Thank you hands.
And we extend our gratitude into our head and all the structures of the neck,
The scalp,
The bones of our head that support everything within.
So grateful for our face,
Our smile,
Our cheeks,
Our eyes,
And the beautiful systems within.
Thank you for our thoughts and our knowledge and our creativity,
Those ideas that create so much beauty and flow in our lives.
And for our voice and our smell and our vision,
Both internal and external.
And our ability to relate to others and our memories.
Thank you head and all the beauty within.
Feeling this gratitude throughout our entire body now,
Lighting up all the areas that we've covered before we say goodbye for today.
Your feet,
Your lower leg,
Your knees,
Thighs,
Hips,
Your torso,
Arms,
Hands,
Your head and your neck.
Thank you body.
I am so grateful for you exactly as you are today.
Starting to bring some feeling and physical awareness back to your hands and feet.
Holding on to that gratitude.
