Welcome.
Today's practice is an invitation to gently tune into the seventh chakra,
The crown chakra.
This energy center lives at the very top of the head,
And it's associated with meaning,
Wisdom,
Trust,
And divine purpose.
When you're ready,
Let's meet in a comfortable meditation seat.
You might choose to sit on a cushion,
Allowing your hips to be slightly higher than your knees.
Take a moment to adjust,
Perhaps gently releasing tension from your neck and shoulders,
Turning your head from side to side.
Or rolling your shoulders a few times until the body feels settled.
And when you are ready,
Come to be still.
Allow your spine to rise naturally,
As if it's being gently lifted from the crown of the head.
Let your hands rest wherever they feel most natural,
On your thighs,
In your lap,
Or at your heart.
You may close your eyes or lower your gaze.
Begin to notice the subtle space at the crown of your head.
Let your inhalation travel upward and expand outward,
Filling this space.
Let your exhale soften the tiny muscles in your face,
Jaw,
Shoulders,
And pelvis.
From this seat of steadiness and ease,
We begin to listen inward.
The crown chakra awakens through softening,
Stillness,
And our willingness to listen.
In this practice,
We're allowing ourselves to receive.
Today's theme is Divine Purpose.
It's not a destination,
But a frequency that we tune into when we start trusting the intelligence of the body and life itself.
Let this be a practice of surrender,
Of remembering your inner compass,
Of opening to the quiet wisdom of your inner guide.
And when you are ready,
Begin to shift into your first shape,
Child's Pose.
Allowing your body to lead,
You may choose to place support under your chest or head.
Feel the back body expand as you breathe in,
And the whole body settle as you exhale.
Can you sense how the breath is like a river?
Moving through your body.
Can you allow yourself to be carried by this current of life?
As the body softens,
Silently offer this inquiry to yourself.
What is my body guiding me towards?
Can you let the response arrive as sensation,
An image,
Or feeling,
Rather than words,
Or simply rest in the not knowing?
Notice what opens in you.
Notice what relaxes.
I will let you know when it is time to transition.
When you are ready,
Slowly rise and make your way into Sphinx Pose.
Or lower all the way down into Crocodile,
With your forehead resting on stacked hands.
Choose the shape that feels most nourishing.
Feel the front of your body gently open.
Feel the pulse of life moving through you.
Ask yourself,
What makes me feel most alive?
Let your breath move naturally.
Trust that it knows exactly where to go.
The seventh chakra is about remembering who you are.
Beneath conditioning,
Expectations,
And stories,
In this quiet,
May you notice moments of spaciousness,
Insight,
Or a sense of calm.
A connection beyond words.
I will let you know when it is time to transition.
Taking all the time you need,
Begin to make your way onto all fours.
Slowly extending the spine as you inhale,
And gently rounding down as you exhale.
Opening the heart space,
And looking up.
And then dropping the chin to the chest,
And letting the spine curl into a gentle flexion.
You may want to continue like this,
Or move more organically,
Intuitively shifting the hips from side to side.
Letting the spine move freely in spirals.
You may even close your eyes and let your body guide the movement.
When this movement feels complete,
Make your way into a forward fold.
Perhaps in butterfly,
Or caterpillar.
Take your time to set up your shape,
Using any props to support your body.
And when you are ready,
Resolve to be still.
Let your upper body soften.
Emptying your limbs of any effort to hold yourself in the shape.
Sensing once again,
The river of breath moving through your body.
Each inhalation is an invitation to open up the tight corners.
And each exhalation is a surrendering to the weight of your body.
And the tug of gravity.
As the pose settles into your body,
Reflect tenderly.
What am I carrying that isn't actually mine?
How much more space,
Energy,
Time,
Will become available to tune into the quiet wisdom of your divine inner guide,
If you could release some of the burden of expectation.
And slowly make your way into pentacle pose.
Lying on your back,
Arms and legs open,
Palms turned upward.
Let your body take up space.
With each exhale,
Sense a subtle dissolving as the body rebounds from deep stretches.
Perhaps you can sense fascia unraveling.
Or the pulse of qi awakened.
Flowing freely through the whole body.
Bring your awareness to the crown of your head.
What do you sense here?
If a thought arises,
Just let it drift by like a cloud in a vast sky.
Then return to the point of focus at the crown of your head.
Rest here.
Open,
Receptive.
Remembering that clarity comes in the quiet space of non-doing.
Stay with this stillness for a few more breaths.
When you are ready,
Find your way into a heart opening shape.
Perhaps in supported fish,
With a bolster along the spine,
Or with one block supporting your upper back and another supporting your head.
You may choose to keep your knees bent with the soles of your feet on the ground,
Or in butterfly,
With or without support under your thighs.
If saddle is in your practice,
You may choose this shape.
Set yourself up and make any adjustments so the shape feels sustainable.
Bring your awareness to your breath as it fills your chest on your inhale and softens the heart space on your exhale.
Just follow the flow of breath.
The spaciousness of the inhale and the gentle ebb of the exhale.
Purpose isn't something waiting for you in the future.
Rather,
It is a frequency already alive inside.
Just listen.
You may ask yourself,
How does it feel to be in flow?
Let the body receive the answer.
Taking your final rounds of breath in this shape,
Perhaps taking a few heart clearing breaths,
Breathing into your heart space through your nose,
And releasing the breath with a long sigh through an open mouth,
Completely emptying the body of breath before you receive the next in-breath,
And then letting it all go with a soft one more breath like this.
And slowly make your way into our final resting shape,
Shavasana.
Let your arms rest slightly away from your body,
Palms open.
Allow your whole system to settle.
Body at ease.
Fully supported by the surface beneath you.
Coming home to yourself.
Sense the crown of your head soften.
Feel space around your body.
The oneness within you.
Trust that what's meant for you is already here.
Just rest here.
Open and receptive.
Begin to deepen your breath.
Gently invite movement back into your fingers and toes.
Relax.
Perhaps taking a big stretch.
Reaching arms overhead and extending your fingers and toes in opposite directions.
You may bring your knees into your belly,
Wrapping your arms around your legs for a gentle hug.
Rocking your body from side to side.
When you are ready,
Roll onto your side.
Pausing here for a few breaths.
And slowly come up to a seated position.
Bring your hands together at your heart,
Or rest them gently in your lap.
Divine purpose is not waiting to be discovered.
It's already living inside the quiet wisdom of the body.
You may repeat,
What I meant to live is already living inside me.
Planting the seed of wisdom in your body.
May you trust the intelligence that has always been guiding you.
Sending you gratitude and peace.
