Hello,
My name is Laura and I'm going to guide us through a meditation where we get to use our imagination.
So go ahead and get situated in a comfy seat.
And before we begin,
Go ahead and take your hands to your belly.
And as you breathe in,
See if you can breathe slow and so deep that it makes your belly puff out and your hands move,
Almost like you're blowing up a balloon.
And then as you breathe out slowly,
Feeling your hands move again like you're letting the air out of a balloon.
Let's do that again.
Breathing in,
Puffing up the balloon.
And exhale,
Letting the balloon out.
And last one,
Breathing in,
Into the belly.
And breathing out.
Awesome.
You can rest your hands in your lap now.
So that was actually a little mindfulness practice,
Because we were focusing on our breathing and the movement of our tummy.
We're going to do another meditation now.
Breathe in that same way during this meditation.
So go ahead and close your eyes,
Or you can gaze softly down in front of you if that feels better.
Now imagine that there's a beautiful butterfly fluttering right in front of your face.
It can be big or small,
And any colors that you'd like.
And now this butterfly has a very special power,
Because any time it lands on you,
It instantly makes that part of your body relax.
So imagine this beautiful butterfly landing on one shoulder,
And that shoulder relaxes and gets soft.
And then the butterfly gently flies over to the other shoulder,
And that shoulder gets softer.
Now imagine that that butterfly flies and lands on your forehead,
And it allows your mind to quiet and totally relax.
Now you can imagine that butterfly flying and landing on other parts of your body.
Watch as it flutters its wings and gently flies around you,
Helping you feel relaxed and at peace.
Good.
And now imagine this butterfly lands on the top of your head,
And it sends a big wave of calm and peace down your whole body.
See if you can feel every part of your body relax from the top of your head down to your fingertips and tippy toes.
Now keeping your eyes closed,
Just notice how you feel right now.
Is it the same as when we started,
Or different?
There's no right answer.
We're just checking in with ourselves.
Okay,
Beautiful.
Now let's all thank our butterflies for their help and relaxing.
And remember that any time you want help calming down or feeling your feelings,
You can have your butterfly come back.
Whenever you're ready,
You can open your eyes,
And I hope you have a wonderful day.
