Welcome to today's mindfulness practice with me Mindfully Laura.
Today's practice is all about visualizing success.
And this practice is designed for a moment in your near future,
Perhaps a meeting,
An exam,
Or an event of some kind.
Where you want to visualize yourself being successful,
Whatever that means to you,
Visualizing the outcome that you desire.
And visualizing is so important because through visualizing we are enabling the neural pathways in our brain to create the future that we are wanting to come true.
Our brain literally sees to believe.
And so I recommend doing this practice as often as you can to help bring into existence the future that you desire.
So we'll start by taking a comfortable position.
You're welcome to lie down,
Sit up,
Stand up.
I'd like you to find a position where you are grounded.
A position where you are aware of where you're in contact with the floor,
With the earth.
And take an inhale.
And on your exhale just allow your eyes to close if they haven't already.
Or if that's not comfortable you're welcome to lower your gaze or rest your gaze on an object in your surrounding.
We'll start by bringing the awareness to the breath.
Just noticing the rise and the fall of the breath.
Not changing the breath in any way,
Just noticing.
Noticing the body responding to the inhale and the body responding to the exhale.
And with every exhale just inviting in a deeper state of relaxation into the body.
Perhaps there is some anxiety present.
Perhaps there's anticipation about the event,
The exam,
The moment that brought you to this practice.
Maybe there's excitement.
Allowing whatever is there to be there and also inviting in relaxation into the body with every exhale.
And as we move into our visualization I invite you to allow your subconscious mind to do the work.
I'll be inviting you to imagine seeing,
Feeling,
Hearing,
Sensing,
Touching.
Using all of your senses.
And I invite you not to try to force your subconscious mind into any one sense.
Just allow any feelings,
Images,
Sounds,
Thoughts to arise.
Trusting that your subconscious mind is powerful and your conscious mind can take a rest here.
And so I invite you to bring into your awareness the event in question.
This moment in time that you are preparing for.
And I invite you just to notice any changes in your sensations in the body that arise by just bringing that more into your awareness.
Noticing any tingling,
Any tension,
Any energy shifts.
Allowing everything and anything that arises to be here with us.
And now I invite you to bring in an intention.
And the intention will be how you wish to feel when you succeed.
How do you wish to feel when you succeed in this event in question?
Allowing your subconscious mind to gift you this answer.
Maybe you wish to feel freedom.
Maybe you wish to feel energized.
Maybe you wish to feel empowered.
I'm coming now to focus on that intention.
Whatever that one word or a couple of word intention is that you've selected.
Breathe into that intention.
Notice how it feels for that energy.
The energy of whatever intention you've set to fill your body.
Notice what changes.
And if you notice yourself judging anything that comes up,
Just allowing that judgment to float away like a cloud.
Inviting your awareness back to this intention of how you want to feel when you succeed.
Noticing any changes to your thoughts,
Your emotions,
The way you're holding yourself,
Your energy.
Noticing what it is like to fully embody this energy of your intention.
And now I invite you to imagine that you are watching yourself on a TV screen.
And you're watching yourself go through this event and the version of you on the screen that you're watching is the full embodiment of the intention that you've set.
So if your intention was to feel empowered,
You're watching yourself go through this event,
The most empowered you could possibly be.
Watch yourself starting,
Perhaps arriving at the event.
Notice how you walk,
How you hold yourself.
Notice how this version of you interacts with those around you.
Notice the thoughts and emotions that you imagine yourself having as you watch on the screen.
Watch yourself going into the event.
Notice what's happening.
Imagine yourself facing any challenges that arise.
And notice what a fully embodied version of you does when your intention is being lived out 100%.
Notice how you deal with any unexpected obstacles.
Notice how you push yourself towards the success that you desire.
Notice how you are being during this event when you are living your intention to the maximum.
And now see this event coming to its climax.
Perhaps it's coming to an end.
See what it looks like to succeed.
And not only to succeed in your goal,
But also to succeed in living out your intention for the event.
See yourself celebrating your success,
Whatever that looks like for you.
And as you watch this version of yourself celebrating,
Allow yourself to imagine what that success will feel like.
Allow that success to permeate through your body with every inhale and with every exhale,
Allowing it to sink deeper and deeper into every cell of your body.
Knowing that this version of you that you've watched on the screen lives within you is alive in this moment.
And can be called upon when the time comes.
And just take a moment to notice how you feel in this moment and how that compares to how you might have felt when we started the practice.
Knowing that there is no right or wrong.
No right way to be.
You are deserving of the success that you desire.

Wiggling the fingers and the toes and allowing the eyes to gently open.
