Sitting tall or laying down,

Finding ourselves in a comfortable position,

Taking a nice deep breath in and letting it out.

Thinking of the most peaceful place that we know.

Maybe this is a beach or a favorite hangout spot.

Maybe it's the view of a sunrise or sunset.

Maybe it's the place in your house where you watch your favorite shows or curl up with a good book.

Or maybe this place is only a place you've ever dreamed about.

Imagine yourself in that peaceful place.

What do you see?

What colors are there in your most peaceful place?

What objects are surrounding you?

What do you hear in your most peaceful place?

Maybe you hear the laughter of friends or the sound of small animals like birds chirping.

Or maybe you hear the perfect sound of silence.

What do you smell in your most peaceful place?

Maybe you smell fresh air or your favorite food or the perfume or cologne of a loved one.

And what do you feel in your most peaceful place?

Maybe you feel the warmth of the sun on your skin or a cold drink in your hand.

Or maybe you feel a soft and fuzzy blanket wrapped around your body relaxing more and more into that peaceful place with each breath.

Inhaling in and exhaling out.

Reminding yourself of the things you see.

Of the things you hear.

Of what it is that you smell.

And what it is that you feel here in your most peaceful place.

Taking another breath in and letting it go.

Beginning to wiggle your fingers and your toes.

Rolling around your wrists or ankles.

And slowly opening your eyes.

Bringing yourself back to this present moment.

Knowing that you can return to your most peaceful place whenever you need to.
