I'd like you to settle down in your seat,
Or lay down in a comfortable position.
When you're ready,
Close your eyes.
And I'd like you to picture yourself in the space that you're in right now.
I'd like you to pick a hair on your head,
Or the shirt that you're wearing,
Or one of your toes to focus on.
And as you're focusing on it,
I'd like for you to start panning out as you're looking at it,
And you zoom out in the view to see your whole body,
And the space that you're in.
And as you zoom out some more,
And see the space that you're in,
In the room that you're in,
And on the floor that you're in,
And then in the building that you're in.
As you see the building that you're in,
I'd like you to look at the neighborhood that you're in.
And from your neighborhood,
Zoom out to the town,
Or the city,
Or the district,
You see all the buildings,
And the cars,
And all the other people around,
And knowing that that toenail,
Or that hair,
Or that shirt is somewhere in that picture.
And continue zooming out from that town or city into the county that you're in,
And from the county at the state that you're in,
And from that state,
Zooming out into your region,
And from the region,
Even looking further through the image,
Seeing the country that you're in,
And then from the country,
Looking at the hemisphere that you're in,
And from the hemisphere,
Imagining yourself as a tiny dot from the sky,
And from there,
Zoom even further out to see yourself on the planet,
Knowing that you are part of this much,
Much bigger universe,
This bigger world that is around us all the time,
And when we focus on ourselves,
And the tiniest things,
Like the hairs on our heads,
We're actually part of something much,
Much bigger.
And as you imagine yourself looking down at this earth,
I'd like for you to stretch,
Feel your body,
Know that it's planted in this earth,
Know that what you're facing,
What you're living,
It's significant and insignificant at the same time,
Know that the feelings you have are valid,
And also part of a whole symphony of feelings at any time,
Know that you are not alone,
As the world is so,
So big,
Take some deep breaths,
Through your nose,
And out your mouth,
As you breathe in the enormity of the world,
And out the enormity of yourself,
And when you're ready,
Allow yourself to pan in to the picture,
From outer space,
To the hemisphere you're in,
From the hemisphere,
To the country you're in,
From that country,
To the region that you're in,
From that region,
To the state that you're in,
From that state,
To the town you're in,
Or the city you're in,
And from that city or town,
To the neighborhood you're in,
And from that neighborhood,
To the street that you're on,
And from that street,
To the building that you're in,
And from that building,
To the floor that you're on,
And from that floor,
To the room that you're in,
And from that room,
To where you are sitting or laying right now,
And as you observe yourself again,
That hair,
That toe,
That shirt,
I'd like for you to acknowledge how vast you are,
And yet how small you are at the same time,
And know that you are part of something so much bigger,
And then when you're ready,
Take some cleansing breaths,
In your nose and out your mouth,
And allow yourself to emerge back into the space that you're in.
