Nature has a profound ability to inspire awe and wonder, something Liz experienced firsthand on the 24th day of her pilgrimage. As she journeys across England, following the energy currents of the Michael and Mary line, she reflects on a magical moment in today’s '5 Minutes in Nature'. She recalls the joy of encountering a tree buzzing with honeybees—a sound so captivating that it made passersby pause, drawn in by the symphony of nature.

Hello and welcome to Five Minutes in Nature with me Liz Scott and here I am on my pilgrimage leaving Glastonbury today and heading towards Shepton Mallet.

It's only a couple of miles away now and yesterday at Glastonbury was a really special day.

Going up to the Tor,

Going to the Abbey,

Going to the Chalice Well Gardens.

I felt so spiritually fulfilled and filled and full and I was really looking forward to walking today.

I had a friend walking with me and we left Glastonbury this morning and if you remember this pilgrimage is about me walking and exploring the energy currents of the Michael and Mary Lines as they cross England from Cornwall up to Norfolk and today has been a gentle day.

It started quite cool,

There was a grey almost mist in the air and it was too cold to take coats off and then gradually the day began to warm up.

The sun has come out,

There's still a little bit of a haze around as I look around.

I'm in a field at the moment with a hedgerow all around the field.

My friend is sitting down having a little snack,

We brought flapjacks with us and you can hear the birdsong.

As we've been walking I've seen wooden enemies and primroses and in the fields here there are Speedwell,

The tiny little blue flowers of Speedwell and daisies coming through.

I can see clover coming up as well and as we walk in this sunshine with a slight tinge of cool to the air it feels perfect.

I feel full of gratitude.

We were walking through the village of Pilton,

The Michael Line goes through Pilton Church and it was a very grand church for such a small village and I stood by the font in the church and I knew from the research I had done that the Michael Line,

The centre of the Michael Line passes through the font and I just stood there in the church feeling that very peaceful,

Calm,

Spiritually settling atmosphere.

And as I came out the church and we were walking along we came across a lady who was obviously super proud of a cherry blossom.

It was a perfect,

Beautiful tree blossoming with pale pinky white flowers.

It was pristine,

You could not have painted it more beautifully and she was taking a photo of it and I said to her,

Is this your tree?

She said yes,

She said but she said don't just look at it,

She said come and listen and so we went to the tree and stood under the tree and we heard the hum of honeybees.

It was delicious and as other neighbours went by she'd say,

Come here,

Quick,

Quick,

Come here,

Come and listen to my tree,

Come and listen to my tree and so one after another there were people coming,

Stopping and listening to the bees and wandering at the sound of the bees as they're gathering nectar and pollen and they were blissed out bees in the sunshine in this tree that was full of blossoms and as I watched the faces of people as they were listening to the bees and just that fleeting sense of wonder and recognition it really helped me see that we all have this connection with nature.

There is a wonder and awe which maybe we don't experience all the time but we have flashes where suddenly we experience that wonder of nature again.

It's like something opens up in us.

These moments for me are so special and to witness other people experiencing them too when they fall out of the humdrum of their thinking and their everyday lives and just suddenly wake up to the extraordinary energy of life that is the natural world.

So we're continuing on to Shepton Mallet today,

Just a couple miles left to go and the Michael line goes through Shepton Mallet church which is where I will finish my walk today and then start it again tomorrow.
