Tonight's story takes us up to the clouds where we feel as light as air,

Letting all our worries go for the day,

Calling in a deep and peaceful night's sleep.

So as we begin,

I invite you to close your eyes and imagine a vast open meadow,

A place where the horizon stretches far beyond sight,

Its grassy expanse swaying in a gentle breeze.

The sky above is painted with hues of soft pinks,

Golds and lavender,

Signaling the slow descent of the sun and the approach of twilight.

Take a deep breath and as you do,

Feel the air filling your lungs.

Feel this air bringing lightness to your body.

And as you exhale,

Let everything go.

Now with this next inhale,

Allow it to feel as if it lifts you ever so slightly off the ground.

And then with the exhale,

Allow it to have you hover weightless just inches above the earth.

Now imagine all of your worries from the day to be like tiny stones in your pockets and one by one,

You take them out and start to let them go.

With every inhale and as each stone drops,

You feel yourself rising higher and higher.

You begin to float upwards,

Drawn towards the magnificent canvas of the sky,

Breathing in and out and climbing high above the earth's surface.

Your ascent is slow and gentle as if you're being pulled up by an invisible tender hand.

The world below grows smaller,

But you are enveloped in a serene sense of calm,

Drifting ever higher.

The wind kisses your cheeks,

Its touch delicate like the softest silk.

It carries with it the melodies of the world below,

The distant song of a nightingale,

The gentle rustle of the treetops,

The harmonizing babbling of a hidden brook.

These sounds mingle and dance in the air,

A lullaby crafted just for you.

You rise so high that you find yourself surrounded by clouds.

These clouds are big,

Fluffy clouds that you've always dreamt of touching.

They're soft like huge cotton balls and as you float amongst them,

They embrace you in a gentle,

Misty hug.

Each cloud you pass absorbs a little of your stress,

Your anxieties,

Your fears.

Amongst the clouds,

You see shapes and figures and allow yourself to get lost in your imagination.

You perch gently on the edge of a cloud that looks like a comfortable armchair,

Taking a break from the movement for a moment.

And as you do this,

You look out at the night sky.

You see the stars shining bright and the other clouds drifting by in the glow of the moonlight.

It's soft and comfortable on this cloud.

Your body feels relaxed here.

Any tension that was there is as malleable as the cloud and drifts away,

Leaving your body feeling calm and at peace.

The white hues of the clouds are also a reminder of peace,

Of letting go and surrendering.

Staring out into the clouds as you lay there,

Your eyes begin to feel heavy.

And as you choose to close them,

You begin to feel the clouds bringing you slowly back to earth.

There is a bed waiting for you,

Soft and inviting,

Promising the embrace of dreams and restful slumber.

As your eyes get heavier and your body drops deeper into slumber,

You descend with gratitude.

The clouds merge into fluffy white feathers,

Carrying you gently back with the same ease as it took to float up to the skies.

As you near the ground,

You can see your bed waiting for you,

Bathed in the soft,

Pure light of the moon.

The sheets turn down,

Inviting you to slip under their comforting embrace.

You touch down with the softest of landings,

Feeling the familiar softness of your mattress cradling you.

Your journey among the clouds may have ended,

But the tranquility it gifted you remains.

Wrapped in the warmth of your blankets,

Any final sensations of being awake fade and you drift deep into sleep,

Letting the gentle rhythm of your heart and the distant song of the world carry you into the land of dreams.

Good night.
