Do away with guilt.

Settle down in your favorite position to fall asleep in and rest your head against your soft pillow,

Allowing your head to sink in and feel supported.

You can feel how your breath flows and your heartbeat aligns with the speed of your breath.

When you take in more oxygen,

Your heart beats faster,

Delivering it to your system.

And as your breath slows when you get ready to sleep a long and restful night,

Your heart slows as well,

Keeping a steady rate,

Allowing your body to regulate everything it did during the day,

Balancing you out and making you feel calm,

Granting your body the ability to heal and recuperate.

As you keep your body still,

You can begin to notice how slowly your breath will become as you pay attention to how still you can maintain your body.

When you breathe,

Let go of any thoughts,

Letting go of them as they come.

And as you let it go,

Remember how slowly your breathing is becoming.

Your heart slows as your breath relaxes and your mind just kind of watches your thoughts.

And you don't feel guilty about thinking,

You don't feel guilty about your breath slowing down,

And you don't feel guilty about your heart slowing down to a pace where you can sleep peacefully.

There is no guilt when there is innocence.

When you are breathing with goodness,

You are benefiting your overall health and mental peace.

Breathing is an innocent action,

Each and every one of us does.

When you feel guilty,

You may become out of balance and your breathing may become erratic.

So breathe now in a nice flow that is smooth and calm,

Slow and rejuvenating.

As you breathe,

You balance,

And as you balance,

You do away with shame.

There is no error in the breath.

Any way you choose to breathe is a natural behavior.

You find the blessing in the breath if you put your attention towards it.

Notice your heart serving you by slowing down and relaxing your body.

As you listen to these words,

You can imagine the wonderful things I describe with ease and imagination.

You are resting in a beautiful wooden canoe flowing along a slow moving river.

The water is crystal clear and the color of the Caribbean Sea.

This is a river you will only see in a dream.

Its waters are bright blue unlike anything you've ever seen.

The canoe cradles you with its handmade design.

No need to steer,

The way it floats is divine.

You can see the trees passing overhead and the sky is like a blessing giving you peace.

The canoe can be whatever color you choose,

But I like to imagine the wood has aged to a natural warm cherry red.

The sounds of the river lapping against the side of the boat soothes you to your soul.

This is called the river of satisfaction where you give away your guilt and shame.

You can release your regrets and let go of pain.

So go ahead now and think of some things that you regret,

But when you do,

You see them float along the bank of the river,

Floating by your canoe.

You can look and see things you regret in your life floating behind you into the distance until you can no longer see your disgrace.

It has passed by and it will not float by your canoe again because rivers never make a loop.

Being guilty also comes with feelings that you should be punished.

Just see these feelings of any punishment that you think you deserve to appear ahead of you on the bank of this river and it passes you by and goes into the distance as well,

Never to be seen again.

Your feelings of being at fault have passed you by gently and easily,

Never to return again.

This river of satisfaction is doing exactly what it is named for.

It is letting you see things as they are,

Passing by your mind for the last time.

Your patience is high as you float along this river.

You wait to see what comes up on the bank that you have been wishing to let go of for so long.

You see people that you have needed to forgive passing by on the bank of the river.

Once the time they don't even notice your canoe.

They come and go as you drift by and you forgive them once and for all.

You see into the crystal clear waters that there are bright green turtles swimming below you.

Their shells are glittering in the sunlight with different colors.

Their shells reflect beauty that only an artist could paint.

There are white fish of various creams and blush colors swimming about,

Making the water dance with motion.

Just relax in your canoe,

Watching everything pass by in all its beauty.

Drifting off into a deep and restful sleep,

No longer feeling guilty anymore.
