Take a moment to arrive,
Not to improve anything or not to regulate perfectly,
Just to arrive.
Feel the surface beneath you.
Notice where your body is being supported.
If it feels good,
Take one slow breath in through the nose and a longer exhale through the mouth.
Or if it feels good for you,
You can do that again.
Not forcing the breath,
But really just allowing it to lengthen slightly on the exhale.
March and the spring equinox mark a point of balance,
Light and dark in equal measure.
Not one winning over the other,
Just coexistence.
See if you can sense that inside yourself.
Where does your body feel lighter?
Just explore,
We're not analyzing or judging,
We're just exploring with curiosity and openness.
And where does your body feel heavier?
Just remember there's no need to change how you're feeling.
We're just mapping.
You may notice areas that feel awake.
Or maybe you notice areas that feel guarded or tired.
But I want you to know that all of it belongs.
Awakening does not mean rejecting the parts that are still in winter.
It means accepting it all and bringing love and compassion to all of you,
To your light and to your darkness in equal measure.
Now let's try to explore with a small somatic exercise.
Let your awareness move gently between two places in your body.
Try and find one place that feels neutral or steady.
And one place that feels slightly tense or maybe braced.
And when you have those two places,
We're going to move back and forth slowly.
So pay attention to the steady place.
And move back to the braced place.
And remember if while doing this it feels like too much,
At any moment you have the choice to stop.
Now move again to the steady place.
And we're literally just noticing,
Noticing how it feels.
Just bring in that curiosity and openness with this gentle exploration.
This is called pendulation.
It's movement without overwhelm.
And in a way it's awakening without force.
As the light increases in this season,
You might feel energy begin to rise.
But I want you to remember that rising energy is not a demand.
You do not have to turn that energy into productivity or you don't need to turn it into a new identity.
You don't have to bloom on command.
Instead,
My invitation is to ask quietly,
What feels like a small shift inside me?
It doesn't have to be a big transformation.
It's just a tiny shift.
It could be just a slightly fuller breath.
Or maybe a softening in the jaw,
A subtle yes.
Just let it be small,
Because small is something sustainable.
And we already have enough pressure from the outside world and society.
Now,
Let's bring your awareness to your hands and just notice any sensation in your palms or fingers.
Again,
We're not judging or analysing,
We're just noticing.
Just imagine warm water flowing over your hands,
Slowly,
Steadily.
Just remember this water is not washing you clean of who you are,
Not at all.
It's just gently rinsing you of urgency,
Rinsing you of pressure and of the expectation to become more.
Just let your hands rest in that imagined warmth and feel what it's like to receive warmth without earning it.
March and the equinox remind us that light and dark can co-exist,
That movement and stillness can co-exist.
Even aliveness and fatigue can co-exist.
You don't have to excite one to allow the other.
Take a slow breath in and as you exhale,
Feel the weight of your body again.
Feel the room around you,
The air on your skin.
And remember,
You're not awakening alone,
Because even in solitude,
You are part of a larger rhythm.
The seasons,
The collective nervous systems and all the bodies here with you learning to move at a human pace again.
Begin to notice more sounds around you.
You can wiggle your fingers,
Roll your shoulders if that feels good.
And when you're ready,
Open your eyes and carry this with you.
Awakening can be quiet.
Renewal can be slow.
And you are allowed to move at the speed of trust.
