Hello and welcome to The Daily Insight.
I'm Michael McIntosh and today we're focusing on letting go.
Letting go.
Releasing any negativity,
Any negative feelings,
Worries,
Anxiety,
Stress and all those other things that can stick to us and ruin our day.
And we can let it go.
Some version of this meditation practice has been used by hundreds of thousands of people to release and let go of their negative feelings.
And it could work for you too.
Starting now.
So are you ready to start letting go of negative emotions?
Wonderful.
Then let's just start with a few deep breaths.
Breathing all the way in.
Holding it for a moment and just letting go.
Relaxing as you release the breath.
Take the deepest breath you've taken all day.
And as you breathe,
Just imagine in your mind and in your heart a golden sun like a spiritual light that is shining on you.
Shining peace and good feelings.
And so to begin,
Just asking yourself what are you feeling right now?
Just be willing to feel your feelings.
First step of letting go is just to feel.
Can you welcome this feeling?
Are you willing to let it go?
Could you let it go?
Are you ready to let it go?
When?
Just let it go and let that negative feeling fly up into the light,
Into the light and be pulled out of you.
And notice the relief.
Have a sigh of relief.
As you let go,
As if your body can relax,
Shoulders can relax.
Breathing deeper.
And let's release a little bit more.
Are you ready to let go a bit more?
Just notice whatever feeling is there.
Sometimes there are stacks and stacks of feelings.
We just release a little bit more.
Just notice what is there.
Are you willing to let it go?
Could you let it go?
When?
Just feeling that energy floating away,
Flying away into the light.
And you can relax,
Completely relax.
Just breathing gently and deeply.
We can continue this process to clear out more and more of the feeling,
Knowing that who you are is a being of good feelings,
Peace,
Happiness,
Joy,
Contentment,
Wisdom.
You are full of all the good things that you love.
And these negative emotions,
They just come up and then they pass away like a cloud in the sky.
Only positive feelings belong to you.
And all the other ones,
They are simply picked up along the journey through life.
And so we can choose to let them go,
Just like we take off a heavy bag after a long journey and put it down and feel the relief.
Or if you take off your shoes after a long day,
And you just lie down on the couch,
Relax,
It's such a relief.
In the same way,
We're just letting go of these negative burdens,
These feelings,
Without judgment,
Without condemnation,
Without criticism,
We're just choosing to let them go.
So we can feel relaxed once again.
So take in another deep breath.
Are you willing to feel your feelings right now?
Notice what you're feeling.
What are you feeling?
Would you let it go?
Could you let it go?
Are you willing to truly let it go?
When?
Just allow that feeling to be pulled into the sky.
Let go as much as you like.
Just see it all being pulled out,
Feel it being pulled out.
Notice the negativity just being pulled way out of your heart,
Out of your being,
Out of your body and into the light where it is burned away.
Noticing how you feel more relaxed.
And as you breathe in,
Feeling the light and peace filling you up.
And as you exhale,
Just letting go,
Clearing it all out.
And as you let go,
You feel space to breathe in the peace.
Letting go as you breathe out.
So each breath takes you deeper into peace and good feelings.
And keep this going,
This practice for as long as you like.
