This is Day 26 of the 28-Day ONE MINUTE Mindfulness Challenge. Today we will practice loving kindness by practcing talk to ourselves like we would a best friend. These are short, quick mindfulness exercises for teachers, parents and children to get a taste of what it feels like to commit to the self-care practice of mindfulness every day for 28 days.

Welcome to Day 26 of your mindfulness challenge.

Today we'll be doing an exercise called Be Your Own Best Friend.

Sometimes when we're having a tough time or struggling,

The thoughts in our head are not very kind.

So we'll be practicing saying different phrases to ourselves as if we were talking to our own best friend ourselves.

So sit tall,

Close your eyes or take your gaze down.

And I just want you to repeat these phrases inside your own mind.

You got this.

This is hard right now.

Everyone has a hard time.

Sometimes you are strong and can do this.

Pick one of those phrases that you like the most that feels easy for you to say to yourself and say it one more time.

Place your hands over your heart.

Take a deep breath in and a deep breath out.

Open your eyes.

Remember,

These are phrases that you can say to yourself anytime you are having a tough time.
