As we sit down with eyes closed,
All the activity that we were a part of so far comes to a screeching halt.
If we were doing some physical activity like walking or talking,
Suddenly being quiet after that can be a little bit jarring.
And sometimes in order to make it less jarring,
We can engage unconsciously into thinking so that this momentum of activity continues.
What we think about doesn't matter.
It's just a filler activity.
If that is happening,
Without judging yourself,
Just recognize that you don't need to think anything right now.
The same rule applies to me.
For me to be present and let words come from my mouth being here without venturing into thinking.
That's why sometimes you'll hear longer pauses between sentences because I don't know what to say next.
It hasn't presented itself.
If nothing presents,
Then I'm perfectly alright being silent.
So whatever is being said right now is a live exploration that all of us are embarking upon.
And as your mind is becoming acclimated to not doing anything,
The discomfort of the silence is fading away.
You You You You You You You You You You You You You You You You Try to relax your eyes,
Your jaw,
Relax your forehead and your eyebrows,
Relax your palms,
Shoulders,
Hips,
And your knees.
You You You You You You A lot of us have a tendency to hold on to tension either in our shoulders,
In our foreheads,
In our jaw.
If you have made a fist,
Relax your hands,
Relax your toes.
If your tongue is pushing against your teeth,
Relax your tongue.
And keep it relaxed.
You You You You You're constantly expanding energy,
Mental and physical.
So it might be a welcome surprise for ourselves to notice the effortlessness.
No extra energy is being spent just in sitting.
You No energy is required to hear my words.
They're effortlessly falling on your ears and without spending any energy,
They're being understood.
And if I'm asking you to relax,
This activity of relaxation is happening just as effortlessly as the words that are being understood.
You You You You You You You This state Seems only like a step away from falling asleep.
The mental activity is slowing down.
The physical activity is slowing down.
But the mind is still awake.
It's not thinking.
It's not operating at full capacity either.
Just some disconnected thoughts hovering in our minds.
You You You Because Because we lead such stressful and hectic lifestyle.
The only time we get to relax is when we sleep.
So relaxation is like a trigger for the body and mind to fall asleep.
But this new experience that we all are sharing right now where we can be relaxed yet awake is a retraining for our bodies and minds to sustain this state of relaxation even in our daily lives.
You You You You Only when we are relaxed can we experience true peace true healing and true happiness.
