I remember when I was a boy,
Maybe five years old,
And my parents took me to see a magic show.
We were sitting in the front row and at some point the magician asked the audience for a volunteer.
I shot my hand up in the air and the magician chose me to go up on stage.
He wore a blindfold and he asked me to draw anything I liked on the whiteboard.
I remember very clearly drawing a question mark and while he was blindfolded he took that question mark and turned it into the most amazing image.
I remember being completely amazed by this miracle that I'd seen just in front of me.
And throughout my life there have been moments where I've been reminded of that sense of wonderment.
I've experienced it when I'm walking in nature,
Staring at a waterfall,
Looking up at a starry night,
Or when a close friend has had a newborn baby.
It's hard to describe what that sensation is like.
It's that feeling of wow and at the same time there's peace,
A feeling of being connected to something bigger,
A sense of sacredness.
Can you think of a time when you've had that wow experience?
Do you remember what it felt like?
My question to you is,
What if you could experience that more often from ordinary day-to-day interactions?
Because what we all crave is to feel whole again.
It's the reason why we chase after money.
What we're really looking for is the feeling of richness.
It's why we go from one relationship to another.
What we're really looking for is a sense of wholeness.
We're looking for something that doesn't fade.
This is why we have problems in our life,
Why we experience frustration,
Sorrows,
Worries,
Because something inside feels disconnected.
But when we reconnect with ourselves,
We feel content.
When you're not chasing a high or running away from a low,
When you're not regretting the past or worried about the future,
That's when we experience peace.
This is what we see with people meditating all over the world.
They're not trying to achieve a goal,
They're simply practicing being content with themselves in the present moment of now.
When you do that,
You become aware that you're part of something bigger than just me or myself.
The mind's desires start to slow down and the flavor of life begins to change.
You start to savor every moment.
And this is your purpose,
To feel whole again,
To reconnect and to remember who you really are,
A particle of life.
