Just spend a few moments getting quiet,
Finding a quiet space.
Bring your awareness to your breathing and just slow your breathing down.
If your mind begins to wander,
You will very quickly become aware that your mind is always trying to distract you.
Your mind always wants your attention,
But you don't have to give your mind and your thoughts attention all the time.
And the way that you can step out of your mind is to just bring your attention onto something else.
Slow your breathing down and keep your awareness on what your breath feels like.
Bring your attention to the sensation of breath moving into your body and moving out again.
Try to slow your breathing down.
Notice what it feels like when your breath is moving in slowly and notice the feeling of your breath moving out slowly.
Try to keep your awareness on your breathing.
Your mind will try to distract you.
Your mind will try to speak and tell you,
This feels right,
This feels wrong.
Some people will be thinking,
I've not done this before,
This feels too difficult.
These are all voices and distractions in your mind.
Slow your breathing down.
Notice how your mind wants to be distracted.
And this is where all pain and suffering comes from.
This is where anxiety,
Panic attacks,
Stress comes from.
Is us listening to our minds all the time and not knowing that we can step out of that.
Not realizing that we don't have to listen to our mind and if we practice not listening to our mind for a few minutes every day,
We'll become better at it.
Think about your body right now.
Become comfortable with the idea that your body is on rent.
This body is not yours.
You might even say that to yourself,
This body is not mine.
This body does not belong to me.
This body is yours.
This body is yours.
The you that is the creator of the universe.
The yours,
The giver,
The provider,
The sustainer of all life,
The creator of all bodies,
The destroyer of all bodies,
The creator of the sun and the moon.
The energy of the universe that is inside of us and all around us.
This body is yours.
This health is yours.
These possessions are yours.
Notice that we mustn't use the word my body,
My health.
Because as long as you say it's my body,
Then you think that you are the owner and that you have to reluctantly give it away.
What we're saying is not my body belongs to the oneness,
My body belongs to Vaheguru or God.
We're saying no,
This body is yours.
This house that I'm in is yours.
The family that I thought was mine is yours.
All must be given away.
All of it will one day sooner or later be given away.
This is yours and this is you.
This is who you are.
This oneness,
This God,
This Vaheguru,
Paramatma,
Allah,
Ram.
This is you.
You are this body.
You are the sun.
You are the moon.
You are the life of all of the universe and you are beyond all of creation as well.
You are my family.
When I look at my family,
I'm seeing you.
We hear in Anand Sahib,
The world that I can see is the form of God.
This is what God looks like.
God looks like you and God looks like me.
God looks like the sky and the earth and the birds and the trees and all the wonderful life forms.
This is what God looks like.
And God is the power behind it all.
The oneness behind it all.
The power that has created it all and the power that will take it all away sooner or later.
Become comfortable with this mantra.
This is yours.
This is yours.
This is yours and this is you.
Whatever you choose to do is what is going to happen.
Whatever you do,
Whatever you want to do,
Whatever is your command,
That is what will happen.
All I must do is surrender and bow down and become comfortable with your control and surrender my idea that I have control.
Practice this for a few minutes every day,
Slowing your breathing down.
Keeping one mantra,
Keeping one shabad,
One idea,
One phrase,
One line of Gurbani in your mind and you'll notice that you're now controlling your mind.
You're not allowing it to get scattered all over the place.
You're bringing it into one place.
And when you keep your mind in one place,
All the worries that come with the mind start to disappear and fade away.
And when you're ready,
Feel free to open your eyes.
