
Kindness For Ourselves & Others - The River Of Love
Have you met someone that just gets under your skin or rubs you up the wrong way? Maybe you are frustrated with a family member or loved one? Sometimes, no matter how hard we try some people are just hard to get along with. This meditation will help you move past the negative emotions and help you find a more loving place from which to view these people. Unburden your heart and soul and step into your protective bubble of light where you can meet this person on safe ground and uncover their light.

Allow your body to stretch out,
Wriggle out,
Just finding your space.
Welcoming yourself into your practice,
Into your meditation.
Taking a few deep breaths just to let things settle within.
To call your energy back into your body,
To soften and relax the mind.
Feel free to soften the gaze,
You can gaze in front of you until the eyes naturally want to close or you can close your eyes straight away if that feels right.
And let that softness move through from the forehead,
Through the eyes,
The jaw,
Down the body.
Just following it down the shoulders,
The arms,
The back,
The chest,
The abdomen,
The hips,
The legs.
As you really get in touch with your being and allow yourself to come into this present moment.
Almost like you're creating a little bubble of light around you for this time.
Just sink into yourself,
Allowing yourself to become more grounded,
More centered,
More settled.
Maybe even dropping a grounding cord,
An energy of light or roots from the base of your body down into the earth.
Allowing yourself to become truly grounded and centered.
Bringing your awareness to that breath,
Just observing,
Experiencing,
Feeling the breath.
Feeling the sensations in your body shift and change as your body relaxes.
Just shedding the weight you've been carrying,
Letting go of the beliefs that may have been trapping you and keeping you stuck.
Allowing your energy to expand.
Allowing your energy to create this beautiful,
Big,
Bright protective bubble around you,
Cocooning you in this space.
Allowing peace to fill this bubble.
Bringing your awareness to yourself,
Thinking about yourself as you move through your life,
Through your world,
Through your days,
As you interact with other people.
Just observing how you move through your day.
Maybe just looking back over the last week or so and asking yourself,
Were you true to yourself?
Were you authentic in your interactions with others?
Did you let love be your guiding light?
Or did you allow frustrations and annoyances to creep in?
You might feel that change or that wobble of energy if you think about frustrations and annoyances and maybe not quite being the best version of you.
Feel how that doesn't sit right,
Doesn't feel comfortable in the body.
Forgive yourself for moments where you may have been short and impatient,
Where you may have judged someone,
But you may have allowed others' opinions to cloud your own.
Forgive yourself,
Breathe it out,
Breathe it out.
Maybe there's a particular interaction with someone that just really you have a hard time with.
Just for a moment revisit that moment,
That person.
See it as it happened.
Notice how your body feels.
Notice that this feeling doesn't serve you at all.
Maybe notice how your energy almost pokes the other person like poking a bear,
Making them react in a less unpleasant way.
And breathe it out and let that dissolve.
Wrap yourself in a bubble of light for a moment.
Just come back into yourself.
Maybe visualizing your heart light emanating from the center of your being,
Moving through your body,
Calming and relaxing you and allowing you to soften and come back to your center,
Come back to your authentic self,
Come back to that sense of peace and love.
Treat yourself with kindness,
Let this love fill your being.
In your space in this safe bubble,
Invite that person in and just sit with them,
Just sit and observe.
And allow that love within you to expand.
Offering it to them.
Offering your kindness.
Offering your heart light.
Looking past the rough edges,
Looking past the things that rub you the wrong way.
You might even notice that the things about them that really get at you might be things about yourself that you're less than pleased with.
Close that mirror and thank them for reflecting that.
And then look past that,
Move past that to their essence,
To their soul,
To their heart.
See their heart as a little bit broken,
A little bit damaged.
And share some of your light with them.
Lifting them up.
Maybe healing a little peace inside of them.
Sending them your love and notice how that makes you feel.
If there's anything you need to say to them with love and gratitude in your heart,
Say it with kindness.
Be firm but be kind.
And again wrap yourself in that cloak of love.
So no negative feelings,
No uncomfortable feelings can enter.
Allow yourself to feel into this space of love and gratitude.
And send that towards this person.
And thank them for stepping into this space and allowing this connection.
And let them step out of your bubble.
Allowing yourself to maintain your integrity,
The brightness of your heart light and notice how you feel.
Maybe stepping back into that scenario,
That moment that really frustrated you.
And now step into that space as this person,
This person filled with the strength,
The kindness and the confidence of your heart light.
And it doesn't matter how the other person behaves with you,
All you see is their light within.
And now you get to reflect your light as they reflect theirs and now your mirror reflects the truth of who you both really are.
As all the fears and the doubts,
All the ego fall away,
Are you just two beings of light meeting on common ground and finding and understanding.
As you change your perception of the events of the past,
You better be able to see the clarity of your future,
Your present and how maybe that event was necessary for you to come to this space,
This moment,
This time.
Release the past.
Break the record that's been going around and around with less than pleasing or helpful thoughts,
Throw that away.
Just give yourself a little mental pat on the back,
A little high five.
Being able to move beyond that and into this new fresh,
Peaceful space within yourself.
And if there's other people,
Other experiences that trigger you and take you down into a place that feels less than great,
Less than joyful,
Less than kind,
You can cast your bubble of kindness and love around you again and invite that person to step into your bubble.
And once more,
Go through the process of expanding your light and looking beyond their pain,
Their fear,
Their ego and into that space of love.
They have people that love them,
They have people they love.
And as you see the true essence of each being that you interact with,
Not only do you nourish their light,
But you expand yours.
You strengthen your own beautiful,
Expansive light within.
You build more confidence within yourself so that anything that happens around you that is less than joyful and kind and loving doesn't shake you so much.
You can stand in your own space,
Your own peace,
Your own light.
You can detach your personal feelings of hurt and discomfort and connect to your compassion,
Your empathy and your kindness.
This doesn't mean that you allow people to walk over you,
They won't.
They'll encounter your light and they'll retreat or they will brighten their own to meet yours.
Believe in your own strength,
Your own power and always bring yourself back to kindness and compassion for yourself and for everyone else that is trying to navigate this crazy world we live in,
This beautiful,
Expansive and absolutely perplexing experience that we experience,
The human experience,
Living on this planet in this time.
We do our best and we strive to do better every single day.
To be kind to yourself,
Forgive yourself when you lose patience.
When someone rubs you the wrong way,
Breathe it out,
Send them love and let it all go.
Come back into your little bubble of light.
Feel this joyful power within you,
This love,
This strength.
Know that whatever comes your way,
Whoever comes your way,
You've got this.
You're in charge of the way you react.
You're in charge of the choices,
Whether you allow negativity in or whether you use your own love and joy and kindness and gratitude to disperse and dispel the negativity and transmute it into something valuable to your experience.
Breathe into yourself,
Into your being and connect to that power within,
Your strength,
Your magic.
Feeling yourself solid,
Grounded,
Strong.
When you realize how fabulous you are,
There can be nothing but love for yourself,
Nothing but awe and gratitude and joy.
Take a moment to acknowledge how truly magnificent you are.
And if everyone else is a mirror of who you are,
Imagine all the fabulous people you get to meet.
Breathe into this energy.
Take a few more moments just to acknowledge yourself with love,
Your ingratitude and then that beam out into the world to touch everyone you know and interact with,
Allowing them to sit into their higher self and connect to their light as well.
When you're ready,
