Allowing your attention to rest on the breath creates a powerful relaxation response?
The act of using the breath for spiritual growth goes back to recorded history itself.
From the ancient Egyptians to the ancient Indians,
The breath was often used as a method of relaxation and transformation.
Welcome to this meditation,
Where we are going to use the power of the breath to unwind,
Uncoil and ultimately relax.
For now,
If you already haven't,
Just closing your eyes and gently transitioning into your inner world,
Easing down,
Down,
Down,
Letting any responsibilities you may have go for now.
The next few moments are for you and you alone,
Everything else is looked after.
Let's take a big deep breath,
Breathing in relaxation and releasing out,
All tension going.
Notice that this breath has created a shift in you,
All of a sudden golden energy is inside your lungs.
This energy was given to you by the ancients,
By the ancestors before you.
They know the power of the breath,
They have used this power many times before.
This power has now been given to you,
Let's take it with both hands and embrace it.
Notice that with each inhale,
The golden energy within you grows stronger,
The oxygen in the air reacts with the energy,
Creating an incredible concoction of life and power.
Feel this energy grow stronger inside you as you breathe in oxygen.
As you exhale,
The golden energy also grows,
As carbon dioxide and toxins are exhaled out of the body.
This breath is very cleansing and powerful.
Notice how the fresh air feels coming into your nose,
Any sense of warmth or coldness,
Any sensation at all,
Just notice this.
This fresh air is new and ready to converge with the golden energy within you.
Noticing the exhale through your nose,
What temperature is the air here?
Is it hot,
Cold or neutral?
This air is used up and not needed anymore.
We are finished with this air,
Letting it go,
Fly away.
Noticing that the golden energy within has increased in intensity,
Feel it in your lungs,
Feel it wherever it flows within your body,
This is the power of the breath.
Noticing how deeply you are breathing now,
Are you a shallow breather or a deep breather?
Feel it in your lungs,
If you want to deepen your breath,
Deepen it.
Stretch them lungs,
Feeling that oxygen integrate with the golden energy,
Giving you power,
Energy and life force.
This is the power of the breath.
Notice it all,
In and out,
In and out,
In and out.
The golden energy is so intense now,
Enveloping your lungs,
Even reaching out beyond,
Enveloping your chest,
Enveloping your heart,
Enveloping your brain,
This is the power of the breath.
The golden life force encompasses your whole system,
You become one with your breath,
The breath enhances your relaxation,
It enhances your sense of well-being,
Rest here as you breathe within the envelope of golden energy.
Then as this meditation comes to an end,
Let's take one last breath,
Into your nose,
Intensifying the golden energy,
And out through your mouth,
Letting all your stress and worries go,
You are so powerful now,
So relaxed.
Just knowing that this golden energy will stay with you for as long as you wish as this meditation comes to an end.
Now just moving your body around,
Coming back to the world,
Bringing your meditative experience into the world,
And opening your eyes with a renewed and rebalanced energy.
