Hello,
My name is Simon Moyes and this is a practice on finding calm.
However you are,
Move a little bit to find more comfort.
Then bring attention to your right hand.
Now close the hand to make a ball or a fist and then slowly open and release the hand.
Close the hand into a ball and then release.
Notice the sensations as you close the hand in the knuckles,
As the fingers press into the palm and then the sensations as you open and release the hand.
And choose a pressure that feels good for you.
Now switch between the hands,
First closing the right hand and slowly releasing and then closing the left hand and releasing.
Start moving from one hand to the other.
Do the sensations in each hand feel different?
And then doing both hands together and adding the breath if you'd like.
Breathing in and closing and on the out breath releasing.
Breathing in closing and out releasing.
And one more time breathing in closing and out releasing.
And now allow the hands to rest by your sides.
And during your day you could see what it's like to squeeze one hand and then the other and then both together paying attention to the sensations.
And see how that supports you in finding calm.
You could also do it by squeezing a cup during a break.
See what works for you.
Thank you for taking part in this practice of finding calm.
