Premasudha helps Barbara see that obstacles—such as illness— are opportunities for learning. We might feel weak, which goes against our training to stay strong, function and keep doing. Yet only when we become utterly humble and helpless can the Universe help us. These challenges invite us to simply be and to let our true self return. When we open to a different way of seeing and allow our thoughts to shift, our bodies, too, can begin to heal.

Feeling weak,

Really weak and tired and vulnerable is not bad.

It's the other side of the polarity.

Don't make it bad.

God comes in when we're feeling weak and vulnerable and we turn to God.

So,

It's like the biggest obstacle is that you make sort of it all wrong about your situation.

You make your situation wrong when this is the most loving thing that could happen for you.

The whole reason for the illness is love and you're being taught.

It's for your learning.

And I'm seeing that it's as if there's stones in your stomach,

You know,

That you can't digest.

And it's the stones are kind of,

It's like in your thinking.

It's your thinking that is hard for you to digest.

It's the way you're thinking about things and it hurts you.

There's a pathway and it's like you've got to follow the pathway.

You might not like it,

But it's leading you to the promised land.

It's leading you into,

Like,

For freedom.

Yeah,

I can feel you don't want to change.

It's okay.

It's like you've been memorizing a poem for 40 years and now you're being told that,

Like,

That's not helpful anymore.

You know,

We all start off too much in our heads,

Right?

That's our problem.

Premasut has to hit us over the head to get us to come down into our hearts,

You know?

And when Premasut is hitting you over the head,

We go,

Oh,

Oh,

Oh,

Then we come more into our hearts.

And it's like,

Yay!

See,

Our culture teaches us to kind of come in,

Sit down,

And shut up.

Yeah,

That's kind of what happens to our true self.

So,

You know,

And then we get sick and then we get told what,

You know,

How to heal it and we try and we go to doctors and everything.

And it doesn't solve the problem,

Which is our true self has been put away in a box.

So,

When you let your true self in,

It has a tendency to heal us.
