
Yoga Nidra For New Beginnings
This guided meditation is a soothing balm for the body and mind. A journey to connect with a new beginning is being birthed, allowing the light to envelop you. Create a safe and comfortable space to fully receive the benefits of this practice.

Welcome to this practice of Yoga Nidra.
However you come to this recording today,
May you feel held and supported throughout this meditation.
When we practice Yoga Nidra,
There is a part of us claiming our human right to new beginnings.
Yoga Nidra is the invitation to find our way back through the fuss and blur,
To you standing on the precipice of a new beginning,
Wherever you are.
In these next 40 minutes,
You are welcomed to fall back into the sweet arms of your own loving embrace.
To feel like a safe space,
Whole and loved.
If you are feeling overwhelmed,
Then welcome that.
If you are feeling lost,
Welcome that too.
If you are tired and at a loss,
Welcome that in.
And if you are scared or angry,
Welcome it.
Welcome it all.
If you are grateful,
Feel it.
If you are feeling loved,
Feel that too.
If you are at peace,
Feel peace.
If you are at ease,
Embrace that ease and welcome it all.
As you feel and welcome thoughts and sensations throughout your experience,
Perhaps you begin to notice your body in the space that surrounds you.
The perception of the energy of the room or space you occupy.
Notice how you can fine tune your senses to pick up on sounds,
Temperature,
Touch and smell.
It's all there just waiting to be tuned into.
Now begin to notice you again.
Can you sense the softness of your skin?
The fabrics or clothes placed over you?
The moisture in your eyes,
Nose or mouth?
And the heaviness of your tongue?
Can you sense into the density of your bones,
Each connected through a joint which is finding its balance,
Its neutral alignment?
As you feel into the bones floating.
Can you feel the tendons and ligaments finding their balance,
Their resting place?
Building and supporting your whole inner world.
Allow for the body to move and adjust so that a resting state can be found.
Feeling the buoyancy of your form,
As if cocooned in a mother's womb.
Soft,
Warm,
Supple,
Supported.
Welcome your whole self into this space,
This state of being.
Nestle into this embrace.
Begin to welcome your inner sanctuary.
Allow it to surface in your imagination.
The sanctuary is a real or imaginary place,
Where you feel most at ease,
Loved and filled with joy.
Allow your whole body to welcome this place or experience and for it to fill you.
Finding warm waves of gratitude and appreciation throughout your body.
It's important to try and really feel this,
As if you are there right now,
In that moment,
Experiencing that joy.
Bring yourself there and bathe in it.
Allow for the softness of your breath to be a constant reminder that you are here,
Practicing yoga nidra.
Body and breath resting as one,
Supporting one another.
Notice your breathing now.
Just start by tuning in to its gentle movements.
Allow yourself to observe it,
With no need to change or affect it.
Let it be a lullaby,
Your very own melody for rest.
Allow this breathing space to open up and notice what's there for you to receive.
As we move through the body now,
Bringing sensation,
Presence to each part of you.
Imagine yourself as the very blood that runs through your veins and allow that to help guide you through your inner body.
Imagine your blood and sense into its colour,
Temperature,
Touch.
Now feel its presence filling the centre of your heart.
From the centre of your heart,
Allow it to flow into your right shoulder,
Circulating in and around the right shoulder joint,
Down into the elbow,
Wrists,
Filling into each finger and fingertip.
Now feel it circulate back,
Up,
Through the fingers,
Through the hand,
Wrist,
Forearm,
Upper arm,
Through the shoulder,
Right collarbone and back into the heart.
It circulates through the heart,
It spills down through the right lung and rib cage,
Running through the space of the pelvis,
Spiralling around the joint of the hip,
Runs into the right leg,
Through the right knee,
Ankle,
Flooding into the right toes and toe tips.
It circulates itself up and back through the space of the foot,
Lower leg,
Upper leg,
Lower belly,
Right lung and chest,
Back into the swirling whirling pool at the centre of your heart.
It circulates through the soft heart,
Now allowing it to flow into your left shoulder,
Moving in and around the left shoulder joint,
Down into the elbow,
Wrists,
Filling into each finger and fingertip.
Let it circulate back,
Up,
Through the fingers,
Through the hand,
Forearm,
Upper arm,
Through the shoulder,
Left collarbone and back into the heart.
As it circulates through the heart,
It spills down through the left lung and rib cage,
Running through the space of the pelvis,
Spiralling around the joint of the hip,
Into the left leg,
Through the left knee,
Ankle,
Flooding into the left toes and toe tips.
It circulates itself up and back through the space of the foot,
Lower leg,
Upper leg,
Lower belly,
Left lung and chest,
Back into the swirling whirling pool at the centre of the heart.
The heart centre intensifies,
Supple and soft.
Now feel your right toes and left toes together and feel their connection to the heart.
Sense the right foot and left foot and feel their connection to the heart.
Right ankle,
Left ankle,
Connected to the heart.
Right knee,
Left knee,
Connected to the heart.
Right hip,
Left hip,
Connection between heart and hips.
Right side of your torso,
Left side of your torso,
Connected and supported by the heart.
Right fingers and left fingers,
Connected to the heart.
The right hand,
Left hand,
Heart connection.
The right wrist,
Left wrist,
Connected through the heart.
Right elbow,
Left elbow,
Heart connection.
The right shoulder,
Left shoulder,
Part way back to the heart.
Circulating source flowing down and back up through the body.
Flowing and circling through the heart,
Generating an upward flow into the throat and neck.
Feel the warmth flow around the back of your head.
Over the top of the head and down over your forehead.
Warmth flowing into and over your eyes.
Bridge of your nose.
Cheeks.
Upper lip.
Teeth.
Jaw.
Ears.
Whole face softened back into space.
Whole face softens back into space.
The whole body now softens back into space.
The whole body filled with sensation is the whole body.
Whole body is welcoming you.
Fall into this opening into your inner world.
Is there somewhere in this space you feel warmth?
Feel back into the inner expanse of this space.
Now notice any sensations of cold or numbness.
Is it possible to fill these areas with the warmth from the rest of your body?
Could you conjure that from within?
What would it feel like if all parts of you were welcomed with warmth?
Softness.
The suppleness that gives you adaptability and choice.
What would it feel like to feel endless possibilities just from your state of being?
Notice any openings in your experience right now.
Just observe with no attachment.
Just notice where something is beginning to open.
Can you feel that opening beginning to grow?
What if a new beginning came from this new opening?
What would it be like to be in the woo as a new life coming into this world?
Allow your imagination to bring you into the realm of a woo.
Feeling the light or darkness around you.
Perhaps you can see the form of an embryo cocooned in this protective layering.
The transparency of tissues.
And the soft indications of life through their colours.
There are sensations of warmth,
Suppleness,
Softness and moisture.
All co-creating this environment for a new beginning to be formed.
Fertile grounds for the softness that we seek.
And the care and kindness we yearn for.
There amongst it all is the constant lullaby of life.
The pulsing of blood.
The movement of breath.
We are amid breath and blood,
We will plant our seed,
Our wish,
Our hope for our new beginning.
Through the softness within you,
Allow for a word,
Symbol,
Feeling state or colour to arise.
And as breath and blood circulate through the woo and embryo,
Infuse this offering of yours into its stream,
Into its course.
With loving kindness,
Feel that offering melt into a beam of light at the centre of the embryo,
The centre of a new beginning.
A beam of light so intent on its purpose,
Filled with love.
Through your softness,
You have created an opening.
An opening within that has the fertile grounds for your new beginning coming to life.
A co-creation through body and mind.
A state of being.
The possibilities for new ways.
A beam of light to become all.
And all becoming a beam of light.
Everything is light.
Become light.
Bathe in this light.
Write the things that come to you,
If you love yourself.
You You You You You You The sensations of your pulse and your breath begin to surface in your awareness You Allow yourself to follow and inhale and exhale Such a sweet reminder of life and your presence here on earth Breathe in and out Feel the back of your lungs and rib cage pressing to the ground beneath you as you inhale Feel the breath move into the upper lungs of the lungs filling all the way to the collarbones Sense all sides of your lungs and rib cage You feel yourself awake moving with breath as you feel yourself awakening.
Tune into your surroundings.
Simply notice where you are in time and space.
When you are ready,
You can slowly bring movement into the body,
Feeling into every part of you.
If you wish to come up to a seated position and close your practice,
Please roll to a side and make your way into a seated position.
I'm not looking for easy ways.
I'm inviting more ease into my work,
More trust in my essence and the qualities that make me,
Me.
I am open to a place to lean more softly into the challenging,
Hard and necessary prickly place of growth.
Making friends with ease is a new relationship and I can't resist the possibility it holds after a lifetime of grinding.

Thank you for consistently supporting me in my journey towards becoming a better version of myself. Listen into your guided nidra practices actually opened the door to something I thought would be closed for good. I struggle with mental illness and after a dark period, I’m only just coming out of, my anxiety was so bad I couldn’t do my favorite thing in the world which was 1. meditation but 2. Yoga nidra practices, until recently. Along with other activities I’m participating in, you’re meditation was the first to stop the racing thoughts.
