Welcome,

Dear one.

This short relaxation is a peaceful pause.

A few quiet moments to help you unwind at the end of the day or to settle your mind before a bedtime story or meditation.

Allow your body to find a comfortable position,

Perhaps sitting or lying down,

And take a slow,

Easy breath in through your nose.

Feel your breath rise in your chest,

Like a leaf lifted by the breeze.

And as you exhale,

Let that leaf drift softly down,

Coming to rest for the night.

And let's do that once more.

Breathing in,

Gathering the stars from the night sky into your heart,

And breathing out,

Letting them scatter across the heavens.

Now,

Let your breath fall into a natural rhythm,

Like the evening breeze gliding through a peaceful meadow.

With each breath in,

The grasses sway and shimmer,

And with each breath out,

They grow still again.

Nothing to do,

Nothing to fix,

Only this soft,

Effortless movement of rest.

Notice your shoulders,

How they can drop a little lower.

Notice your jaw,

How it loosens when you let it.

Notice your heart,

A soft lantern glowing within you,

Its steady light guiding you gently home.

All through this day,

You've done your best,

Dear one,

And now it's safe to rest.

Let the weight of the day slip off your body,

Like a blanket sliding to the floor.

If thoughts drift in,

Imagine them as tiny clouds passing through a twilight sky.

You don't need to follow,

Just watch them float by.

Your body and mind are quiet and still,

Like the surface of a calm lake at dusk,

A still pool of rest where everything settles.

The quiet and peace surrounds you now,

And the edges of the day fade away into the stillness of the night.

Nothing to do,

Nowhere to be.

Only this peaceful pause.
