I'm sure this might have happened to you before.
You wake up and everything is just off.
As the day goes by,
You tend to get triggered by absolutely everything and the day only seems to get worse and worse as it goes.
But often times it was because we started the day off on the wrong foot,
Perhaps you woke up feeling angry because of a dream,
Or you woke up with anxiety and didn't take the time to process the emotion or feeling before the day started.
So that's what today's practice is all about,
We're simply going to check in before we move on with the day.
So make sure that you are comfortable,
Gently close your eyes if they weren't closed already.
Take a deep breath in for me,
Hold at the top and slowly exhale out.
Now let's start imagining in our mind's eye this question,
How do I feel?
Perhaps you'll see a word or you'll feel it somewhere in your body or you'll see an image and if nothing comes up,
That's okay too.
Now ask yourself,
What do I need?
What do I need?
I'll leave you with this for a short moment,
Great.
Now take a deep breath in and a big exhale out through the mouth,
Exhaling and releasing all of it out.
Now if you've noticed there was a specific emotion that was brought up and you've been shown what you need the most right now,
Try to take a minute after this practice to take notes in a journal or on your phone and try to schedule a time in your day so you can nurture your body in that way.
And now slowly wake up your body by taking another deep breath,
Feeling your chest expand,
Moving up,
Slowly start to move your fingers,
Rolling your neck,
Rolling your shoulders and when you're ready,
Gently blink your eyes open.
