Ram meditation get super comfortable Preferably lying on your back,
But you can also do this sitting up lying or sitting Become aware of touch Where your body touches the floor or the seat?
Notice what the clothes feel like where they touch your body What do the different surfaces feel like?
Now notice your ears the shape of them your instruments for hearing And begin to use them to listen How many different sounds can you find with your hearing?
Far away and near different sounds Now come to your eyes Can you see anything behind your eyelids?
Sometimes it's all black Other times there may be different shades of gray or color or even images Notice your tongue the tip of the tongue To the bottom of your tongue at the back of your throat Can you notice saliva in your mouth?
Swish your tongue around Do you taste anything?
Imagine the taste of your favorite food and And swallow the taste lastly your nose Your sense of smell What can you smell?
Again,
You could imagine your favorite smell Enjoy the scent now take a deep breath in through the nose And out through the mouth like a sigh Excellent two more times breathe in and out Breathe in and out And out Scan through your body and notice if there's any way you might feel some tension perhaps in your face and head Relax your temples and jaw and your eyes Your neck and your shoulders notice them and just allow them to relax your arms and hands Heavy relaxed your chest and belly they move when you breathe notice it and Allow the whole area to just relax your whole back relaxed your buttocks and hips your legs heavy soft and relaxed and your feet your whole body relaxed Now if your eyes aren't closed Try closing them now It's easier to imagine and relax that way But it's okay to keep them open as well if that feels safer Now imagine in your mind's eye or referring to the picture of the big horn ram See him as a muscular,
Proud,
And strong man He plants his two hooves firmly in front of him,
Holds his head high,
Powerful curved horns catch the light.
There is a twinkle in his eye,
And he is a proud,
Fearless man.
There is a twinkle in his eye,
And that leaves you feeling that he is mischievous,
But also a force to be reckoned with.
It's hot in the desert where Ram is.
The sun beats down from above.
The air is dry,
And you feel a wall of heat hit you in the form of a breeze.
A trickle of perspiration runs down your neck in response.
The air feels hot and thick to breathe.
You look at Ram,
Who seems immune to the hot conditions,
Confidently walking around nuzzling at the bottom of cactuses,
Wetting his tongue with the moisture that he finds in the openings.
He stands,
Very still,
And lifts his head to gaze off into the distance.
You look that way too,
But all you see is desert.
The Ram,
However,
Can see something that you can't.
A predator of some sort,
Beyond what your eyesight is capable of seeing.
He stiffens and stamps his hoof.
Dust puffs up around his leg.
He snorts and lets out a low bleat,
Indicating to the flock it's time to leave.
They were heading to the mountains today anyway.
Behind him are various ages and sizes of bighorn rams,
Each of them as courageous and confident as he.
They size each other up as they begin to move as one.
Friends yet rivals.
They are in search of the flock of ewes,
And only the strongest of them will have the honour of mating.
Ram leads the way.
He is driven by an internal fire and inner belief.
He doesn't need motivation from others,
And nor does his flock.
They travel together for company and safety.
Though each and every one of them will win the right to become a leader at some point in their journey.
On the desert plains,
They have foraged and eaten their full.
As they journey to the mountains,
Their amazing ability to digest not only all they have eaten,
But to digest all of their experiences,
Fears,
Doubts,
Wins and losses,
Is one of their most powerful attributes.
They have no room in their bodies to hold onto negative emotions.
They digest their emotions and experiences,
Just like food.
It just becomes another source of nourishment.
Once they reach the mountains,
You are amazed at their ability to lightly jump from one uneven rock to another.
There is less food here,
But they are safe from predators,
And find pleasure and enjoyment from precariously balancing on the edges of ledges.
This is playtime too.
Your stomach lurches as you look down from one particular ledge to the valley far below.
The cactus are just tiny dots.
You move your eyes from the valley to your foot.
Your foot is the hoof of a bighorn,
And the ledge is thinner than your entire hoof.
How are you standing here?
In front of you,
Other bighorn leap to what appears to you to be impossible distances,
And they continue to do it from one equally small rocky ledge to another.
They beckon you to come with them.
You are shaking with fear and excitement.
You are not here to give up.
You are here to challenge and channel the qualities of all bighorn rams and make the leap.
You push off the ledge with all your might and fly through the air.
You know deep down within you that nothing is impossible when you have courage,
Willpower and determination.
It feels as though you are flying,
And time has paused.
Echoing throughout the valley is the sound Ram.
You land with a feeling of exhilaration.
You did it.
You lift your face to the sun,
Basking in the feeling of achievement,
And feel a yellow glow all the way down to your stomach,
Leaving you feeling nourished and powerful.
Now imagine yourself slowly floating down to your body,
Which is resting in the cool valley below.
Become aware of your arms and your legs,
Your torso and your head.
Wiggle your fingers and toes,
And go back to your day with determination and creative fire in your belly.
Stretch and wiggle and move in whichever way you need.
And when you sit back up again,
Just take one moment to think,
What are three things you could be grateful for today?
Thank you,
And have a wonderful rest of the day,
Morning or evening.
