Morning Prayer for Anchoring into Nature Hello Beloved,
Before the rush of this December day gathers around me,
I pause and return to the earth.
I breathe in slowly,
Letting the morning air touch the edges of my spirit,
Letting my body remember what it is to be steady,
Rooted and held.
I imagine the grey trees of winter,
Bare branches reaching into the pale sky,
Deep roots threading calmly through the cold soil.
This morning,
May I be like those roots,
Quiet,
Strong,
Grounded in the truth of who I am.
Let every inhale draw me deeper into myself,
And every exhale release a tension that tries to pull me away from my centre.
As I stand at the threshold of a busy day,
I call in the strength of the mountains,
Their ancient patience,
Their unshakable presence,
Their silent reminder that nothing rushed is ever truly wise.
May their steadiness settle in my bones,
Guiding me to move with intention rather than urgency,
With clarity instead of overwhelm.
I invite the stillness of lakes into my morning,
That glass calm surface reflecting the sky and clouds,
That quiet depth holding everything without effort.
May this calmness fill the spaces within me that feel hurried,
Scattered or stretched thin.
Let the water teach me how to pause,
How to soften,
How to listen beneath the noise.
And I welcome this spirit of December,
The gentleness of applewood smoke rising from chimneys,
The warm glow of hearth's kindling comfort,
The soft hush of a world slowing down.
In this season of dim light and early nights,
May I remember that rest is also wisdom,
That gentleness is also strength,
That I'm allowed to move at a human pace.
Even in the busiest mornings,
Let this anchoring stay with me.
Let me walk through my tasks with the groundedness of tree roots,
The calm of still waters,
The patience of mountains,
And the softness of winter air.
I open my hands to the day ahead,
Steady,
Centered,
Connected to the earth beneath me.
Nothing can rush me out of myself.
Nothing can pull me from my grounding.
I move through this day with presence and with peace,
With gratitude.
The End
