Welcome to Living a Life of Gratitude.
I'm Sarah Wiseman.
Lock into the hum.
There are times in a church service,
In any church or denomination,
At any feast or holiday or prayer service,
Even in any gathering,
When the energy in the room becomes palpable.
I experience this as hum.
At a certain point in the many Catholic ceremonies,
For example,
There is a time when the congregation joins hands,
One to another,
Each to the next,
And recites the Lord's Prayer aloud together.
Other religions have other traditions.
It is interesting to watch the discomfort of people who don't know each other suddenly reaching across the room,
Across the pew or chairs or space between them,
To join hands.
It is interesting to watch the initial uneasiness,
The haltering shyness,
The breaking open of hearts,
When people who don't like each other or family members who have been arguing suddenly reach to hold each other's hand,
And the mood in the room suddenly changes.
At this time,
At this tipping point of energy in which there is consciousness in the collective of the collective,
If you look carefully,
You will see a thickening of the air,
A golden paleness of light that suddenly suffuses everything.
If you will notice carefully and listen with not just your ears but your entire soul,
You can lock in.
Lock in to the humming,
Vibrating energy that has somehow become alive in this space.
Perhaps this is why churches,
Cathedrals,
Temples so often have such tall ceilings,
To allow more room for the energy to rise,
So those who are there can feel it,
Can see it,
So those who are there can lock into the hum when we are together as souls.
Spiritual celebration and community has been a part of the human experience for thousands of years.
When we come together,
The universe is there with us too.
What does locking into the hum mean to you?
Where do you hear or find the hum in your life?
Look and listen carefully today.
The hum of the universe is always there when you pay attention.
