All right friends,
Welcome.
Welcome to our time together and our day.
Today we're going to be exploring the Metta meditation of loving kindness.
You may be familiar with this meditation.
This may be new for you.
We are going to go through a sequence.
It's going to be the same mantra throughout.
So just coming into your breath,
Coming into your space and your place,
Whatever that feels like for you.
For those of you that were part of the discussion earlier,
I did introduce some movements.
That was a mudra,
The lotus seal,
And then also a chagang movement,
The loving kindness and lotus flow.
So if you'd like to bring that in,
You're welcome to turn this into a moving meditation or just find your comfortable space in your comfortable place.
Coming into your breath,
The mantra will be,
May I be happy,
May I be healthy,
May I be free and at ease.
We'll say that for self.
We'll say that for somebody that you have admiration for,
Love,
Caring,
Someone that brings you joy.
They can be alive.
They do not have to be.
So if it's a memory of someone that's passed,
That is okay.
I also like to open that up to your furry friends as well.
I believe there's a special place in our heart for them too.
And if that's what shows up for you,
That is totally okay.
We'll also extend this to someone that we have conflict with.
Reminder to be gentle with yourself.
Let's not zap away all of the meditation juju that you'll get and all that good feeling.
So with that conflict person,
Maybe pick a five or a six,
Something that you can do a little bit of sending that loving kindness and healing open up the door for healing and restoration.
We'll go out a little bit farther extending that to our community.
We'll go a little bit farther and then open that loving kindness meditation and mantra out to everybody and the greater good.
Continuing to breathe,
Finding your breath wherever that is for you today.
Begin to offer yourself the loving kindness.
May I be happy.
May I be healthy.
May I be free and at ease.
Continuing to breathe.
Bring up in your mind's eye that person that brings you joy that you have love for.
We're going to extend this loving kindness to them.
May you be happy.
May you be healthy.
May you be free and at ease.
Bringing up that person where there's healing opportunity for healing.
We'll extend our loving kindness to them as well.
May you be happy.
May you be healthy.
May you be free and at ease.
Continuing to breathe in that loving kindness and sending that and extending that out.
Bring to mind your local community,
The people that you run into on a daily basis.
Those that you see whether you know them personally or not.
And we're going to extend this loving kindness to them as well as a collective saying to each.
May you be happy.
May you be healthy.
May you all be free and at ease.
Spending another moment with this group,
Continuing to offer that mantra.
We'll repeat that again.
May you each be happy and healthy.
May you all be free and at ease.
We continue breathing in this loving kindness and this simple prayer for others.
You go a little bit larger now extending our community.
Let's go in to the larger space of our city,
Of our state,
The area that we reside,
Areas that we travel.
Spending a moment collectively gathering up this community of people.
May we be happy.
May we all be healthy.
May we be free of conflict and living together in ease.
Continuing to breathe into that greater purpose.
We're going to go even bigger now friends.
Let's extend this all the way out,
Not just to our current area,
But out into the world,
Out throughout the continent.
The places that we've seen,
The places that we hope to see,
And the places that have touched our heart.
Continue breathing this beautiful mantra.
May everyone be happy.
May we all experience health.
May we learn to live free of conflict and at ease with each other.
Continuing to breathe in this beautiful intention as we extend our love and our wish for health,
Knowing that any time we begin to feel unbalanced or the pressure,
We can come back to this beautiful mantra.
May I be happy.
May I be healthy.
May I be free and at ease.
Following with the same mantra for others.
May you be happy.
May you be healthy.
May you be free and at ease.
I have a belief that as we continue doing this as a collective,
We can shift ourselves and shift each other by coming together with the combined wish for each other.
I encourage you to pick this up any time that time allows.
If it could take time to do this once a week individually,
What a difference the collective could be.
So it's my encouragement for you to come back to this simple mantra for yourself,
Beautiful wish and prayer for others.
May you be happy.
May you be healthy.
May you be free and at ease.
Continuing to breathe.
We'll take three collective breaths together.
Breathing again.
Inhale deep.
Exhale long.
We'll end this meditation with the chime.
Welcome back,
My friends.
Thank you for joining me and the collective as we breathe together and send out our intention.
