Week 2 of the 13-week exploration of breathwork and meditation - Wellness Wednesday's Mid-day Meditation sponsored by The Phoenix Group. Taking the next step into meditation, we explore our thoughts. We come into acceptance and curiosity of the thoughts that arise, knowing there is nothing to do, perhaps let go, at this moment. Meditation that I'd like to bring you into today is just a mindfulness of your thoughts.

Oftentimes we can get overwhelmed and feel like we need to do something with every thought that comes up.

It's a very normal and natural way of being.

In this time that we have together,

I just encourage you to set down the need to solve anything.

You don't have to do anything right now except continue breathing and find a peaceful place with your thoughts.

There are many ways that we can visualize our thoughts.

They could be light and fluffy like a cloud floating by.

They could be fast and racing like a speed train.

It can be long and never ending like a cargo train,

Right?

It could be like a leaf swirling around in the water,

Finding its way.

Any one of those,

All of those,

However that is showing up for you,

Just allow that to come.

Maybe as your thoughts arise,

They embody something different.

I find that frequently with myself.

Depending on the thought,

The mind takes me someplace.

I have this opportunity and so do you to come into an acceptance and an awareness.

The more we actively observe our thoughts and become aware of our thoughts without having to go into action,

Create a distance where peace can surface.

As your thoughts are coming up,

Maybe you simply say,

I accept you thoughts.

Maybe the response today is there's nothing to do here.

As we come into that gentle observance and acceptance,

Perhaps you notice where your thoughts are going,

How they're making you feel.

If that starts coming up,

Step back into your breath.

I accept your thoughts.

There's nothing I need to do here.

If like myself,

You have a thinker's brain and you're always wanting to do something,

Maybe that something is just letting go.

Maybe we've come to that space where there is nothing left to do except let go.

As the thinker's mind starts thinking,

Remember,

I accept your thoughts and then let it go.

I accept your thoughts.

There's nothing to do right now,

But breathe.

If the temptation to do something arises,

Remind yourself in this moment,

Only a couple more minutes of being without the need to do something.

Allow yourself this time to just be.

I accept your thoughts.

There is nothing to do but breathe.

I accept your thoughts.

You continue breathing and staying in that curious acceptance.

Time to bring a little attention back to your space and the place.

I am going to bring you back to your area and to your thoughts and to the things that do need to be handled.

Give yourself a little bit of gratitude for showing up,

For staying with yourself and in your thoughts and letting them go.

That can be challenging.

I honor you for staying in that place.

When you're ready to come all the way back,

I'll go ahead and hit the bell.
