A simple and quick grounding meditation to help you connect in with your body and with Mother Earth. This meditation will help you find your breath and a moment of presence in your day. Leave the meditation feeling more grateful for yourself and for the Earth.

I invite you to find a comfortable seat or lay down.

I invite you to close your eyes if that feels good and helps you connect inward.

Set an intention for this meditation today.

You can say your intention out loud or in your head.

Perhaps your intention could be to find some grounding or perhaps your intention is to connect in with yourself or to connect in with Mother Earth or maybe your intention is simply to find some stillness and presence.

Breathe with your intention for a moment.

Now,

Bring your awareness to the areas where your body is touching a surface.

Feel into your feet and the parts of your feet that are touching a surface.

Breathe there.

Now,

Move your awareness to your seat.

Feel the weight of your seat pressing down.

Breathe there for a moment.

Feel the weight of your hands in the areas where your hands are resting.

Now,

Bring your awareness to your breath.

Begin to breathe deeper in and out.

I invite you to make your exhales longer than your inhales.

Breathe in,

Breathe out.

Breathe in,

Breathe out.

Now,

Bring your awareness to your seat and to your root chakra at the base of your spine.

Visualize a golden cord beginning to extend from your root chakra downwards.

Visualize this cord slowly extending down from your root into the earth.

This golden cord extends through the soil and through rock and through groundwater,

Deeper and deeper until it reaches the core of the earth,

Connecting you to the heart of the earth.

Breathe into this connection to the earth,

A connection which is always available to you.

As you breathe in,

Breathe up earth energy through the golden cord.

Feel this energy enter through your root and move up your spine.

Breathe.

As you continue to breathe,

Invite in gratitude and appreciation.

Gratitude for the earth,

Which supports us and sustains us,

And appreciation for yourself for showing up today.

When you're ready,

Visualize the golden cord disconnecting from the core of the earth and moving back up through the rock,

Through the groundwater,

Through the soil,

Up,

Up,

Up,

Until it reaches your root chakra once again.

Now bring awareness back into your body.

Bring awareness back to your breath.

Feel your seat on the ground.

Perhaps begin to wiggle your toes and fingers,

Inviting in some small movement.

I invite you to keep your eyes closed and bring your hands to your heart.

Perhaps bring some of that gratitude for yourself and the earth with you the rest of your day.

Breathe in,

Big breath out.

When you're ready,

Slowly open your eyes.
