I'm Skylar Liberty Rose and today's meditation is on loving all of who you are,
Particularly if you feel as though you're failing or you find yourself comparing your life to other people's.
I know what it's like to feel as though you're floundering,
As though everybody else has everything figured out.
I know what it's like to look around and convince yourself that other people have perfect lives and ideal relationships.
I know what it's like to measure yourself against the very specific successes that our societies have deemed to be of the utmost value.
I know what it's like to believe that you are constantly coming up short.
And I also know what it's like when you start to move away from those beliefs,
Set down all the heavy expectations and finally take one true breath.
One true breath.
One true inhale that belongs to you and you alone.
One true exhale that releases the weight and worry you were never meant to carry.
Breathe in now.
Let your breath travel to the parts of your body that are asking for love.
When you breathe out,
See if you can let go of anything thorny,
Any old stories that you've been holding onto.
Deep within the heart of you,
Nestled at the very core of you,
Embedded in the centre of your being,
There is a knowing.
A knowing that measuring your body,
Your success,
Your one precious life against a warped system of values that aren't actually valuable is not only draining but distracting.
Because when your time and energy are focused on measuring yourself this way,
There's no room left to celebrate who you are,
No space left to rejoice in your story.
At your core,
You know you're already worthy.
But that part of you has likely been buried for long years.
Perhaps you've never even connected with that core knowing,
Because the world successfully piled on with all its shoulds and must-dos.
What chance could you have had to embrace and embody the beautiful vastness of you,
When at each turn and every intersection you were told that you weren't doing it right and that you weren't nearly enough?
And because the judgements of the world can be pervasive and persistent and wholly convincing,
You likely held onto those words of harsh criticism and internalised them as truths.
With each lie you were told,
You buried the core of you even further.
But that innermost knowing,
That core truth that is you,
It cannot be erased,
Not fully.
So we do the work of excavating until we find that buried treasure.
We keep going until we unearth that wondrous centre that belongs to you and you alone.
Slowly,
As we peel away the layers of lies,
We find something timeless.
Something true and deep and real and indelible.
Something that survived.
Someone who survived.
Take a breath in.
Take a breath out.
Remind yourself of these truths.
Every part of who I am is worthy of love.
The only path I need to focus on is mine.
I am always learning.
Always growing.
Always becoming.
I will lovingly embrace every layer of who I am.
I will not turn away from myself.
Coming back to yourself in this way takes dedication.
It's not a one-time choice.
It's an ongoing commitment.
Staying with yourself,
Connecting to the very centre of who you are is something you will need to return to over and over again.
Daily if you can.
It gets easier with practice because you draw strength from that centre,
From your centre.
And it will fuel you.
It will fortify you.
It will multiply.
Your job is to protect that space.
Defend that space by enforcing a loving boundary around it.
Not a barrier,
Because love and connection need to be able to flow to and from you.
But don't allow the shoulds and the must-dos to dictate how you live.
Don't allow the weight of the world's judgement and expectation bury who you are.
We need your light.
We need all of your spark.
Let us see you.
Let us love you.
Know that even in your uncertainty,
Even when the ground beneath you feels shaky and unstable,
Even when you stumble or fall and feel yourself shatter into so many fragments,
Know that you are worthy.
All of you is worthy.
All of you is a wonder.
And it is my greatest wish that you might know this with more conviction every passing day.
You can come back to this meditation and the mantras I shared whenever you like.
Mantras are such a wonderful way of reinforcing the truths we often forget.
I recommend choosing one or two that feel especially aligned for you and using them throughout your day.
Know that you are worthy of your own love and attention.
Thank you for joining me today,
Sending deep love and gratitude from my heart to yours.
