Hi,
This is Jessica of the Lotus Pond.
Welcome to your moment of intentional pause.
Today's meditation is dedicated to all the beautiful mothers out there.
In becoming a mom,
We take on this honorable role of taking care of our babies until they can take care of themselves.
Through this parenting journey there are countless magical and joyful moments that teach us about the power of unconditional love.
At the same time there are also those impossible moments where we are truly tested to the core,
Having to face parts of ourselves unrealized.
It's an ongoing learning process which at times can get the best of us,
Right?
So before I move on,
I'd like for you to take a moment to ask yourself on a scale of 1 to 10,
10 being the highest,
How much pressure do you put on yourself as a mother or parent?
Take a little longer to consider where that pressure comes from.
If you like,
Feel free to press pause before we go into our meditation,
Spending some time to write where this pressure comes from and what it feels like.
No matter where you find yourself on the scale today,
Know that it is simply a number and that it will constantly change.
But what stays constant is a love we have towards our children.
So let's take one big nurturing breath in and out Affirming out loud,
I am an amazing mama.
With that affirmation in place,
Let's begin today's meditation.
Find a comfortable seat on a chair or on the floor and just relax yourself.
Feel free to close your eyes or have a soft gaze,
Allowing your spine to be nice and tall yet relaxed,
Allowing your hips to fall to the earth.
Feeling your body and legs grounded.
Now go ahead and breathe three deep beautiful breaths in and out.
Slow gentle breath in through your nose,
Holding and exhaling.
And as you breathe,
You're simply watching your breath Watch as the breath comes in through your nose and out through your nose or mouth Letting all the worries of the mind and the heart,
All the to-do's,
Errands,
Just let them swim on by like fish in the waters.
This is your time now.
You are allowed to relax.
So pause here and just be.
Now mama,
Bring to your mind's eye,
That space between your eyebrows,
An image,
Vision of your child.
Bring him or her to your image and take some time to notice everything about this child of yours.
Carefully look at the qualities,
The characteristics,
The personality of your beautiful child.
See their beauty,
Their sweetness,
Their curiosity and playfulness,
Even their humor.
Notice everything you love about them.
As you witness all of the beauty about your child,
Feel yourself filling up with the positive energy of love,
Pride and appreciation you have for them.
Let that energy expand,
Glow,
Warm you up from your heart to all around you.
And if you have more than one child,
Feel free to also invite the other ones into the image.
Taking as much time as you like to notice their bestest qualities.
Witness all of their beauty,
Let it glow and expand and warm you up from your heart outwards.
Like a warm light energizing you from inside and out.
Now I like for you to think of three of your favorite characteristics of your beloved child.
Sum it up in your mind into three adjectives.
Allow those adjectives to rise into your mind's eye.
And just look at these words,
Noticing how they make you feel.
I like for you now in front of those three words to add in,
I am.
Take a moment to look at these affirmations.
Notice your body,
Your mind and your heart.
What if I were to tell you that all the good stuff that you see in your child is because of you too.
For you are their teacher,
Role model,
You are their everything.
All of the qualities you love so much about them are extensions of you.
Your children are the embodiment of all of your goodness.
So if there are ever moments where you doubt yourself or feel like you're not doing enough,
Remember your children are the proof of your pure beautiful nature.
Let us close today's meditation with the following mantra.
Bring one hand over the heart and the other over your belly.
Repeat out loud or in your heart.
May I love myself as much as I love my kids.
May I see myself the way they see me.
I am an amazing mom and an incredible being.
I am enough just as I am.
So can all the loving energy from these mantras allow it to flow and fill you up so much so that it's overflowing.
So much so that there's enough to share with the mothers in your lives,
In your community,
To the mothers of the world,
Including our Mother Earth.
Let that love spread all around.
And when you're ready,
Begin to move your toes and your fingers,
Allowing your body to return.
Take all the time that you need and when you're ready,
Gently open your eyes.
