In this meditation we will use the flame of a candle as a focal point to give us a place to rest our attention. This can often be helpful for those beginning a meditation practice or on the days when it feels hard to settle your mind. While we focus on the flame, we will explore our own awareness of inner strength and the fire within. This meditation includes affirmations to create a sense of confidence we all long for. Welcome,

My friend.

This meditation is a candle meditation,

So light a candle if you have one,

Or allow your gaze to rest on the picture before you.

And exhale it back out as you gaze at the candle,

Letting any thoughts drift by,

Just bringing your awareness back to the flame,

Flickering and dancing before you.

Watch the beams of light radiating beyond the flame,

Or just like this flame.

Feel the strength that inner flame within,

Perhaps placing a hand just below the ribs.

This is the sight of your powerful breath.

This is the sight of your true power.

Imagine now this flame inside of you.

Watch it dance.

See its light.

Take a deep breath in from the base of your spine,

All the way up through the crown of your head.

One more.

Just like that.

Deep breath in,

All the way up the length of your spine,

All the way up the length of
