Welcome to this sleep meditation.
Wherever you are.
I'll invite you to get comfortable.
Maybe it's lying down.
Or maybe it's seated upright.
Allowing your body to settle into the space you are in.
And just taking these first few moments to tune in.
Notice the space around you.
The temperature.
The textures,
The sounds.
And if you haven't already,
You may start to close the eyes or lower the gaze.
Finding your breath.
And noticing the flow of it.
Inhaling the body expands.
Exhaling the body softens.
Keeping the eyelids light.
The jaw.
The facial muscles relax.
Notice what might be going on for you,
Your body,
Your thoughts,
And your breath.
You've come to the end of your day.
And the time right now is for you to rest.
There's nothing to do.
Nowhere to be at this moment but here.
In today's modern society,
It's really tough to slow down.
To do nothing and to give ourselves some time to rest.
But knowing that rest fuels our daily lives,
It helps us have the energy to do what we want to do.
So with this reframing,
Notice how it lands for you.
And remember,
We all start at different points.
All of us are different.
And this is not a race,
Not a competition.
Not a place to see who does better or who does worse.
Not a comparison game.
Just notice your relationship to rest.
Your relationship to sleep.
How does that land for you?
Keeping the eyelids soft.
And jaw and the facial muscles relax.
See if you can bring your awareness to your shoulders.
Allow them to melt into the surface beneath you.
Softening,
Releasing,
Opening.
Relaxing the arms and the legs.
The abdomen,
The hips.
Really just allowing yourself at this moment to let go.
Let go of any gripping or clenching or holding within the physical body.
And letting go of any thoughts,
Rumination,
Overthinking.
And as you notice the body,
Come back to the breath.
And with every exhale you change.
Soften a little bit more.
And as you notice,
As you relax deeper.
Into stillness,
Into silence.
See what may be happening for you at this moment.
Tapping deeper into the body.
Into the breath.
Creating space within the body.
You can stay for as long as you need.
We have come to the end of the meditation.
Thank you so much for joining me and I wish you a great night.
Okay.
