Welcome to this meditation,
Ideal to say goodbye to the year or to welcome the new one.
You can do it lying down or sitting.
Place yourself in a position where you can be comfortable with your back straight for a few minutes.
Bring your attention to your breathing for a few moments.
Begin to observe the air going in and out of your nose.
With each exhalation,
Allow your body to relax a little more.
Let your feet and legs fall towards the floor.
Let your arms and hands surrender completely to gravity.
Relax the muscles of your face.
Loosen your jaw and frown lines.
Continue to observe the air going in and out of your body and every small movement that occurs when you breathe in your chest,
In your abdomen.
Begin to visualize that you are sitting in the middle of a beautiful forest with many trees all around you.
You are sitting right underneath a huge tree.
Its giant,
Sturdy trunk is right next to you.
You can smell its fresh scent.
Sunlight streams through its branches and leaves,
Drawing shadows that move on the ground at your feet.
You feel protected,
Safe and at peace next to this wonderful tree,
Which radiates an energy of love,
Wisdom and calm.
This tree that keeps you company today represents this year that has just passed.
Imagine that you raise your eyes to the top of the tree and each one of its leaves represents and keeps a memory,
A moment,
An emotion of the hundreds that you have lived during these months.
Look at each leaf carefully and find in each one of them the memories you lived this year.
Maybe you will see faces of loved ones.
Maybe you will see places.
Maybe you will notice smells or hear music.
Maybe different emotions will flow through your body.
Feel free to explore each memory and let yourself go through whatever comes up inside you.
Hopefully there are some moments you would like to leave behind.
Visualize some leaves a little dry,
Brown,
About to fall.
And these leaves are stored some memories,
Some moments of the year that maybe caused you a lot of pain,
Anger,
Rage or any negative energy.
Observe how these yellow leaves begin to fall from the tree to the ground.
The dry leaves fall and will soon disintegrate and return to the earth,
From which your tree of memories will feed and grow stronger.
Look again at the green leaves,
The happy moments of your year.
Take a moment to give thanks in a deep and conscious way for these moments lived.
Give thanks for this year that has passed,
For having the experience of being alive,
Of enjoying life,
Of experiencing it.
Now,
Take a moment to walk through this forest.
As you walk,
You discover that each tree is a year of your life.
How many trees does your forest have?
Look at the leaves of some of the trees in the distance and discover memories of your childhood.
Now you are standing in a space of fertile soil.
From your pocket you will take out a small,
Glimmering seed.
This seed is the year that is about to begin.
It is the seed of the tree that will begin to grow and fill with experiences and memories.
Kneel down and plant this seed in the ground and as you do so visualize how you want this tree to be in the future.
What emotions and memories would you like to see in its leaves in the future?
Take a moment to feel the happiness,
The gratitude,
The peace that you wish for your future self.
Take a deep breath in and when you exhale slowly return to the darkness behind your eyelids.
Slowly begin to move your hands,
Your feet.
Take the time you need to return to the everyday.
