Question about the use of meditation within dreams.
Can you control your dreams because you practice meditation or practice mind control?
So there is an intersection between meditation and lucid dreaming.
Lucid dreaming is when you become aware of the fact that you are dreaming.
When you're in that state,
You get the ability to take control of the dream and control yourself and you realize you're dreaming.
It's quite an insightful and transformative experience.
You can explore your inner world.
You can do a whole variety of things.
It's quite fun and quite insightful.
You can even ask the dreams like,
Hey,
Subconscious self,
Whatever you're sort of in,
Show me something important.
Show me something that I need to know.
So there's deep opportunities for insight.
The challenge of lucid dreaming is one,
Be realising you're dreaming,
And two,
Once you realise you're dreaming,
Not just waking up and bouncing out from excitement or overwhelm.
There is a direct correlation between mindfulness meditation and the ability to realize you're dreaming and stay in the dream.
And there's techniques to realize and to stay in the dream and a whole bunch of other stuff down the lucid dreaming part,
And you can explore that space.
By constantly returning your focus back to a point of attention,
By recognizing where your mind is at any one state.
That skills will translate into everyday life.
Your waking life,
But also your dreaming life.
If you get really good at focusing and really good at noticing where your mind is,
Those skills will transcend when you've got a bit of consciousness within your dream.
It sounds a little bit esoteric,
And this is an advanced practice,
But the more you meditate in your day,
The higher the chance of you having a lucid dream and staying within that lucid dream.
Because you're grounded,
Because you're focused,
Because your mind starts to wander,
You bring it back.
Like oh there's weird stuff happening right now this doesn't seem normal oh i'm dreaming Then within the dream,
You have a choice.
What do you do whilst you realise you are dreaming?
Do you explore?
Do you sort of consult the dream and ask it?
Do you meditate within the dream?
Mindfulness meditation within the lucid dream,
I.
E.
Seeing and looking around.
What do I see?
What do I hear?
What do I feel?
Do I smell?
What do I taste?
Noticing yourself from within yourself.
Like I said,
It's a deep practice,
It's a.
.
.
A bit more of an advanced practice,
But it's something to look into,
And the more you meditate in your day,
The more chance you will have of lucid dreaming.
There are other practices you can do,
And I have released sessions and courses on lucid dreaming,
But extensively,
Meditate more,
And it will happen for you.
