We’ll use touch, breath, and mountain imagery to steady your nervous system—not by trying to calm it down, but by taking up space. This practice is ideal before big moments or when you're unable to access calm when you need it.

Hello,

This is Zia.

Let's spend the next few minutes to shift from worry to a wise and grounded calm.

You can begin by pressing your feet firmly into the floor.

Feel the soles of your feet meeting the ground as if they're growing roots.

Take a deep breath in and exhale,

Imagining any jittery energy draining through your feet into the ground beneath.

Lovely.

Again,

Breathe in and exhale,

Letting the ground simply hold you.

Your body remembers how to be here,

Not ahead of yourself.

Place one hand on your heart,

The other on your belly.

Let your hands bring a sense of calm and containment to your body.

No need to argue or agree.

No need to resist or comply.

Just be with your hands and breathe into the space.

Your touch says,

I'm here.

We'll face this together.

And now,

Imagine your spine as a mountain,

Unshaken by the weather of your thoughts.

Storms may come,

Winds may rush,

But the mountain doesn't become the storm.

With each breath,

Feel yourself rooted more deeply into the ground,

Your shoulders steady.

You're not trying to stop the wind.

You're learning to stand in it.

Your nervous system is learning.

Uncertainty doesn't mean danger.

Each time your feet press down,

Each time you feel your hands warm your chest and your belly,

You're rewiring the old alarm that rang too often.

Quietly and firmly,

You are the keeper of the calm.

When you're ready,

Release your hands,

But keep this mountain solidness,

Not rigid,

But unshaken,

Softly rooted in calm.

You don't need to know the next step to trust this step.

You can trust that the next step will appear just like the next breath,

Exactly when it's needed.
