Living with chronic pain can be exhausting, especially during a flare-up. This gentle meditation offers a space to pause, notice what is present, and practice how you can be kind and compassionate towards yourself during moments of heightened pain. You’ll be guided to bring your attention to the body, notice sensations without needing to change them, and create a little more space around pain, difficult thoughts and emotions. This practice is not about pretending that the pain is okay, making yourself tolerate more than you can, or giving up on finding ways to feel better. It's also not about making the pain disappear. It's about allowing what is already happening to be acknowledged, and helping you navigate what your body needs right now, and how you want to care for yourself in this moment. You can use this meditation during a flare-up, when pain feels particularly intense or overwhelming, or whenever you need a few minutes to reconnect with yourself while experiencing pain.
