Thank you so much for joining me in this meditation for overall rest and sleep.
Our bodies and minds are not always accustomed for stillness in the busyness of our day-to-day lives.
And when we arrive in stillness,
The mind can begin to busy itself with problem solving.
Let's begin.
Drawing the inhale in and exhaling all the way through.
Inhale gently,
Drawing that beautiful air in and exhaling all the way through.
And one more time,
A nice long intentional inhale in and letting this last exhale linger out just a bit longer.
Beginning to feel your head ease into the pillow,
Noticing a softening through the brows,
Letting the awareness come just to the space between the brows,
Almost as if you could envision the brows dropping off to the sides,
A sense of ease through the forehead and brows.
And beginning to feel the eyes dropping back into the head,
Noticing that sensation,
The softening of the lines around the eyes,
Now letting the awareness come to the jaw,
Perhaps taking the tongue to the roof of the mouth and noticing how this brings a sense of ease into that jawline.
Nice and slowly inhaling in,
And an easeful and gentle exhale all the way through,
Without changing any expressions on your face,
Bringing the attention to the corners of the mouth and just envisioning the sensation of ease through the corners of the mouth,
A sense of ease and friendliness through the lips,
And letting that attention now gently come to the back of the neck,
Envisioning nice smooth skin on the back of the neck,
No lines,
No creases,
Smooth evenness through the muscles,
Moving now to the sides of your neck for your neck,
From the ear gliding all the way down to that smooth curve of the shoulders,
Simply feeling the ease as the shoulders drop away from the ears,
Perhaps even noticing the shoulder blades or the scapulas dropping down the back,
Dropping down into the soft bed below you,
Feeling those muscles in your body ease into the bed,
With each exhale out you feel yourself into the bed just a bit more,
Letting the awareness now arrive at the heart,
Feeling the heart lift with each inhale,
And a softening through the chest and the body with each exhale,
Envisioning this sense of expansiveness and space from shoulder to shoulder and through your heart,
And in this space just noting the ease that you're inviting into this space within,
Noting the ease,
Noting the calm that you're inviting into this space within,
And now letting the awareness come to the belly,
And with each inhale the belly rises,
And with each exhale the belly falls,
And with each inhale the belly rises,
And with each exhale the belly falls,
And with each inhale the belly rises,
And with each exhale the belly falls,
And with each inhale the belly rises,
And with each exhale the belly falls,
Envisioning the soft wave-like motion of your belly,
Feeling the sensations of ease,
Of rest,
Of peace beginning to weave its way through you from the crown down the sides of your neck,
And expanding across your heart space through the arms to the tips of the fingers,
This sense of ease,
This sense of calm,
Of peace,
Of rest,
Of peace weaving through the belly,
The pelvis,
Down through the quads and the hamstrings,
Moving all the way down the legs to the very soles of your feet,
Almost as if you could feel the sensations of a warm blanket,
Of peace wrapping its way through you and around you,
Feeling this ease leaning into the pillow,
The support of the bed,
And the deep deep sensation of ease in you,
Envisioning this space of calm,
Of peace,
And of rest,
Feeling the belly rise,
Feeling the belly fall,
Staying with the steady rhythm of rest in you,
Thank you so much for joining me,
May you feel a deep sense of ease and peace,
