I'm so glad you're here.
Today's meditation is an invitation to begin with space,
Within your body,
Your breath,
And your being.
Pema Chodron once wrote,
You are the sky,
Everything else it's just the weather.
So in this practice,
We'll remember how to embody the sky.
We'll start with a gentle breath to awaken clarity and energy,
Then move into a body scan,
Exploring not only sensations,
But also the spaciousness inside you.
This supports clarity,
Lightness,
And a grounded presence as you begin your day.
So finding a position that feels relaxed and alert,
Allowing your eyes to soften or close.
Breathing into the belly,
Then the ribs expanding like a wave.
Exhaling slowly,
Ribs release,
Belly softens.
Again,
Inhaling into the belly,
And then the ribs.
Exhaling from the ribs,
And then the belly.
One more time,
Waving through the belly,
Up into the ribs.
And the wave comes down from the ribs,
Belly relaxing.
Continue at your own pace.
Let each breath create space,
And notice the quiet openness between breaths.
You are being breathed.
Bringing your attention to the crown of the head,
Sensing that space above you like sky.
Face softening.
Forehead,
Eyes,
Jaw.
Breathing through space.
Neck and shoulders dropping away from the ears.
Shoulder blades floating.
Chest expanding.
Arms are heavy yet spacious,
All the way to the fingertips.
And now the heart.
Ribs widening.
Heart resting in openness.
Belly rising and falling.
Room to feel,
Room to breathe.
Hips and pelvis steady,
Spacious,
A grounded bowl of light.
Legs alive with a subtle vibration,
Spacious all the way to the feet.
Now sensing your whole body as one field.
Breath and space and energy.
Noticing emotions within this spaciousness.
How do you feel when you remember you are the sky?
Stay here as long as you'd like.
And as you're ready,
Beginning to wiggle your fingers and toes,
Rolling the shoulders,
And stretching if you'd like.
Take a moment to thank yourself for beginning your day with a spacious presence.
As you enter your day,
Remember you are the sky.
Weather moves you.
The wind moves through you,
And you remain the sky.
And so it is.
