Frances Cameron

Frances Cameron is a composer, pianist, and performer who blends classical and contemporary influences to create peaceful, reflective music. She completed a Bachelor of Music at the University of Tasmania in 2021, with majors in Songwriting and Commercial Creation. In 2023, she became an Associate Artist with the Australian Music Centre, where her scores are available for hire or purchase. Her debut album, Piano for Dreaming, was released in 2024. Frances premiered it via a live performance at the Museum of Old and New Art (MONA) in Hobart on International Piano Day. In 2024, Frances composed scores for two documentaries, both selected to screen on SBS in 2025. One of these, Reel Equality, has also been selected for screening at the 2025 Sydney Women’s International Film Festival and Melbourne Women in Film Festival. 2024 also saw Frances commissioned to compose the soundtrack for pulana wuratji, featured in the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery’s Island to Ice exhibition. 2025 will see the release of two new albums. A Day at the Florist (March 2025) is an ethereal collection of piano and synth compositions based on her improvised set from the World’s Smallest Improvised Music Festival in November 2024. Piano by Frances (October 2025) is a solo piano album.
