Close your eyes,
Allow your body to settle,
Notice your breath as it moves in and out naturally,
No need to control it,
Just be aware.
Feel your shoulders begin to soften,
Let your muscles and your face relax,
Release any tension in your chest and hands.
With each exhale,
Feel yourself letting go just a little bit more.
Now bring your awareness to your heart,
Notice the rhythm there,
Steady,
Faithful,
Alive.
This is where forgiveness begins.
Take a slow breath in,
And as you exhale,
Whisper silently,
Lord,
I am here.
Heavenly Father,
We come before you not asking for anything,
But opening our heart to your healing presence.
We thank you that your mercy is new every morning,
We thank you that your grace covers every part of our story,
Even the parts we wish we could rewrite.
Begin by gently turning your attention inward,
Think of the moments in your life where you may have fallen short,
Times you've spoken in anger,
Acted from fear,
Or held regret.
See these without judgment,
Just simply acknowledge them.
Now imagine God's light,
Soft and golden,
Pouring into those places.
Let his love cover them completely.
Whisper to yourself,
I forgive myself,
As God has already forgiven me.
Let that truth sink in.
Take a breath in,
And feel release with every exhale.
You do not need to carry shame any longer,
Christ carried it for you.
His words echo in your heart,
It is finished.
Now bring to mind anyone who has hurt you,
A name,
A face,
Or even a memory.
You don't have to force forgiveness,
Just be willing,
Whisper,
Lord,
Help me forgive.
Feel his peace begin to move through those hard places.
Imagine releasing that person into God's care,
No longer bound by bitterness,
No longer holding them captive in your heart.
As you let go,
You make room for healing.
Forgiveness is not approval of what happened,
It is freedom for your soul.
Take another slow,
Full breath.
Feel the space inside you expand,
Lighter,
Softer,
More open.
Say silently,
I choose peace,
I choose love,
I choose forgiveness.
Now invite God's spirit to fill every place that was once heavy.
Let his love flow through you,
Cleansing,
Restoring,
Renewing.
Feel his grace settle in your heart like still waters.
Take a moment of gratitude,
Thank God for the strength to forgive and to be forgiven.
Thank him for his endless mercy and compassion that makes you whole again.
As you prepare to return,
Take a deep breath in,
Feeling peace filling your lungs and your heart.
Exhale slowly,
Releasing everything that no longer serves you.
And when you're ready,
Gently open your eyes.
