I'm Jackie.
Thank you for joining me for this meditation.
Today we're going on a journey together to help you understand and let go of any anger you might be feeling.
When we're angry,
It can feel like there's a storm inside us that doesn't know where to go.
Maybe someone said something that hurt your feelings,
Or something didn't go the way you'd hoped,
And suddenly that storm starts to grow and swirl in your chest.
Anger isn't bad,
It's just a feeling,
One that wants to be noticed,
Listened to,
And it can then be gently released and let go.
If we keep the anger inside,
It can get stuck,
Growing bigger and heavier,
Until it bursts out in a way that doesn't help us or anyone else.
But when we feel it,
And let it move safely through us,
It can turn into calm again.
We're going on our journey with a special helper,
A spirit friend,
Who will show you how to let your anger go.
Close your eyes,
And take a slow,
Deep breath,
And then let it out with a sigh.
Ready?
In.
Ah.
And again.
In.
Ah.
Let your body feel soft and relaxed.
Relax your shoulders.
Relax your arms.
Relax your legs.
Now imagine a soft golden light in front of you,
Safe and warm.
From within that light,
Your spirit helper appears.
You might see an animal,
Perhaps a wise old owl,
A strong bear,
A playful fox,
Or even a gentle dragon.
Or maybe it's an angel,
A fairy,
A unicorn,
Or someone completely different.
Whoever appears,
They are friendly and kind,
And you know they've come to help.
Take a moment to see your spirit helper appear.
Your spirit helper reaches out,
And together you begin walking towards a woodland up ahead.
This is a woodland like no other.
Here all four seasons live together in harmony.
Some trees stand tall and bare,
Their winter branches glistening with frost.
Others are covered in soft spring buds,
Ready to burst open.
Some wear bright summer leaves,
Deep green and full of life.
And others glow in autumn colours,
Gold,
Orange and red,
Their leaves rustling as a soft wind whispers through them.
Your spirit helper leads you to one special tree,
Its leaves tinged with red.
Something about this tree feels familiar.
You place your hand on its trunk,
And feel its heart beating with love,
Beating in time with your own heart.
Slowly you begin to merge with the tree.
You and the tree become one.
You feel strong,
Steady,
Protected.
Now,
Held safe within the tree,
Think of something that has made you feel angry or upset.
You don't need to say it out loud,
Just notice it.
How does it feel?
Maybe it feels like heat inside you,
Or a tightness in your tummy or chest.
That's okay,
You're safe here.
As you feel that anger,
The leaves on your tree blaze a bright,
Deep,
Fiery red.
They shimmer and tremble,
Filled with wild energy.
It's okay,
This is just your feeling showing itself in the safe place.
You don't need to hold it in,
Or fight it.
Just let the feeling be seen,
And it will soon be ready to move on.
Now take a few deep breaths in and out.
As you breathe out,
The wind begins to blow through your branches.
Breathe in,
And out.
It's a kind wind,
Strong but gentle.
It swirls around you,
Tugging at your leaves.
You give a shake to help loosen them.
Then whoosh,
Your angry red leaves start to break free and spin through the air,
Flying higher and higher before floating down to soft Mother Earth below.
Mother Earth smiles,
Welcoming your leaves,
Ready to turn their energy into something new.
A few leaves might cling on.
That's fine.
Give one last little shake,
And feel them drift away too.
Your branches are bare now,
Open and light.
You've let your anger go.
It's gone back to the earth,
Where it can rest and change into something beautiful.
Mother Earth works her magic.
Feel her gentle energy rising up through your roots.
It feels warm and golden,
Filled with peace.
Soft blossom begins to bloom all over your branches.
What colour flowers do you see?
They could be any colour you like.
Pink,
White,
Blue,
Golden,
Whatever feels calm to you.
And they smell wonderful.
Birds come to sit on your branches amongst your blossom,
Singing sweet songs just for you.
You breathe in deeply,
Filling yourself with this peace and light.
Your whole body feels calm and free.
Your spirit helper smiles at you,
Proud of how brave you've been on this journey.
Slowly,
You unmerge from the tree,
Returning to your own body.
You wiggle your fingers and toes.
You can still feel that calm inside.
It's yours to keep.
See the soft golden light in front of you again.
It's time to say goodbye to your helpers,
Your special tree,
The kind wind,
Mother Earth,
And your spirit helper.
Don't forget to thank them for helping you today.
Gradually,
They fade away into the golden light.
Whenever you feel angry again,
Remember your tree and your helpers.
Take a deep breath,
Close your eyes,
And imagine shaking off your red leaves.
Let wind help you.
Let them fall again on Mother Earth so that she can change them into beautiful blossom.
And let peace grow again inside your heart.
And remember that your spirit helper is always there for you as well.
Just ask for their help when you need it.
Take one last deep breath in and sigh it out.

Gently open your eyes.
